Hi everyone, so i have the line 6 UX2 interface connected to monitor speakers through the analog outs, and the usb is connected directly to my laptop which is a toshiba satellite. when i play guitar i hear cracking noise coming out of the speakers but when i stop playing, the noise stops too. also the same thing happens when i play any song. but when i connect an auxiliary cable from the speakers to my ipod and play any song, the noise is gone. could it be that my laptop is the reason? or the UX2 is causing the problem?
I think the best thing you should do is try a different USB cable on your computer to connect the UX2 to.
The next thing beyond this would be a reinstall of your UX2's device driver software: here's a link to the latest Windows USB device driver installer: http://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=3987
But my first guess would be to try a different USB port connection and see if a different port changes the audio output quality. (Every port is it's own unique connection to the host computer).
You might want to consider trying a different USB cable, too just to rule that possibility out.
