Ok I understand that the M13 don't have Midi Through, because it's large and so it rather is the controller of a midi system than being controlled.

But with the M5, the standard usage will usually be on the board, being controlled by another midi controller (Ground Control Pro or similar).

However, the Midi Out cannot be configured as through. So what, do I have to bring the out on my controller to the rack, and then another midi line back to the board for the M5?

Makes no sense, Midi Out is used for backup of user patches, but not really as important as would be a Midi Through in my opinion. Or it should be possible to use as either, out or through.
