Your Monkey couldn't conect to Line6 server. Maybe is something wrong with your internet provider. Chceck also your firewall and add Line6 Monkey to trusted apps (so it can connect to the server). Also Line 6 could had some problems with their servers and you had this error.

the license manager I didn't think you'd need for just the POD HD500.. or is that error (with license manager in the title bar) coming from monkey?

do you use a shared internet connection (like in a university) or at a business?  There's a chance they bloock traffic that's not deemed as web browsing traffic.

do you also have another PC you can try this softawre on, as I have seen occasions with Windows FIrewall where it seems turned off, but due to bugs it's actually still turned on.

Let us know how you're getting on with this

just to correct myself.  whilst it's still the case that a shared internet connection could cause some issues with web browsing... I've checked my firewall logs here while using Monkey, and my next generation firewall does show the monkey traffic as being web browsing type traffic (and also over TCP port 80 for those of you with standard type firewalls).

      Cheers

what antivirus product do you use?  I've had a few issues before with AVG for example.  it's great AV software, but occasionally has given me application issues that have later been fixed with an AVG update.

here's another thread looking at the same issue, take a look and see if anything there fixes your issue.

Let us know how you get on

sorry I forgot to link to the other thread, here is the link, take a look at that thread and see if any of the advice helps you with regard to networking.

          http://line6.com/support/thread/36268

if you're using an ethernet cable, and turning off wifi on your machine fixes this, the likelyhood is that it's a network card binding order issue.

          Cheers

thanks for trying that out.  (some desktop PCs now have wireless too, so it was still worth asking).

Re: monkey + licence login error

what drivers are you meaning?  line 6 drivers or system drivers on your PC?

if you mean PC drivers, then visit the website of your PC manufacturer and see if you can download updated drivers, and then just install them.

with any system changes, always take a backup of your information, as when installing any updates there's always a small chance something will go wrong.

if you mean Line 6 drivers click on the downloads link at the top of this page and download the latest drivers installer, and it will likely install the latest drivers for all your L6 hardware.

please try to give us more information, as your replies aren't very detailed so it's hard to help you when we aren't in front of you PC, and to know what you can see.

                  Thanks

Re: monkey + licence login error

that's fine.  take your time to reply in an hour.

what you need to do is take a look at your PC hardware and go to the websites of the PC component manufacturers for your drivers.  companies that sell PC components usually have the drivers on their website, like Intel, Asus, Gigabyte tech, nVidia, ATi (AMD), etc.

something worth updating is your motherboard chipset and USB drivers, as without these you're likely to have issues with your connection to your POD using USB.

If you get stuck then the person you need to help you would be the person who built your system.

Once you've fixed your PC driver issues, we can then start to look at your Line 6 issues.

                      Cheers
