Amp? Cabinet?

Hi. Do I need to run my HD 500 into an amp, or can I run it right into a cabinet? Basically, I'm trying to figure out what other gear I should assemble. Should I get a PA? Or just a pair of cabs? Or do I need to get a good amp too?
