problem with XLR outputs

I'm Fabrizio from Italy and I'm the owner of a pod HD500 v 1.3

I apologize for my ignorance on the subject....

is it possible that if I connect the xlr outputs to the mixer the sound "arrives" with a delay of about half second rispect to my guitar?

Thank you

That can happen if you are using a patch/preset that includes a delay FX set to half a second.

If it is happening with all presets, even with no FX delay assigned, there is a problem. Please provide more information about your setup.

The xlr's do not sum to mono on the HD500 if only using L or R connector. You could possibly only be hearing one side of the stereo signal.  I discovered that when trying to go direct to PA with xlr.  I have since purchased a xlr Y cable to combine L/R into one mono/xlr going to board.

+1 to both Silverhead and jeffster.

You should not be experiencing a 1/2 second delay when using the XLR outputs from the HD500.  This could be due to a delay as was mentioned earlier.

Lastly I recommend connecting to other gear and testing all of the outputs to troubleshoot further.

    Hey fabrizio70,

Have you had a chance to try the other outputs on your HD500 using some other gear? If so what were your results?

    Re: problem with XLR outputs

    Hi Fabrizio70

It strikes me that you have your HD500 connected to your computer maybe and the half second latency is being caused by the use of a non-low-latency driver or a larger than necessary buffer setting.  With the computer disconnected from your HD500 you should not experience any latency between your guitar input and your monitor speakers.

    Regards

    Nick
