I can check on that. That seems reasonable.
As to the complications, they are the same for the guitar but we have been constrained on the amount of guitars we are shipping so that month or two is getting drawn out to many months because we were not shipping in the thousands like we would with the M9 or POD right out of the gate, we have been ramping up production as to not shock the factories system. As I have said before, we are stuffing a computer inside the guitar not just some volume and tone pots. Guitar factories are not used to our needs. But as I said months ago, a major ramp up is happening right now with thousands going out worldwide over the next bunch of weeks.

Thanks for the reply Rich. I'm still having problems with whatever these "complications" are. It just seems odd as we usually get other Line 6 products within a month or two of when the are available elsewhere. And for the other countries you mentioned, they are much further away which is why I would think they may still be waiting.
I talked to a rep from L&M today and he did confirm that SF did get some 59's but he said that the 69's, which I think most of us here are waiting for, won't be delivered to SF until late October. So I should expect early November as a delivery time. Any truth to that?

Thanks again, Rich. I just hope that the Nov date doesn't slip as did the July/Aug date that I understood from your previous posts (maybe I was reading too much into them).
I can understand that delay's happen, I just don't like the delay's without an explanation. But then, I sure you've heard that enough so I suggest at least every two weeks or even monthly if it's too much, give us an update. Let us know what's happening. Doesn't have to be specific just a quick post to let your potential buyers know what's happening.
For example, you said about the 69's being constrained. Was this something that happened recently? Was it to fix a potential quality issue? If so, letting us know about it certainly would make me feel better about the delay.
Anyway, just venting but hoping some of it will be taken to heart. I still really want a JTV!
Cheers,
jayson

So vaguely when (if you have any info) would Australia be likely to start getting a few. I know we had 2 come by for a trade show, but no others as I've heard yet. Unless I were to believe the manager at the store I ordered it from, who told me they were in the country several weeks ago but delayed by customs. This store happens to be very well known for constantly telling fibs to customers however. Unfortunatley they're also the only L6 dealers in my town. SO back to the point, will I be likely to get my order filled before next year. As I'm starting to go insane.

Mate I can only hope the build quality of the one you get is better than mine. I got one of the 2 that were at the trade show and it has a problem with the low E string.
Intonation can not be set and it sounds terrible once you get above the 12th fret. The setup was terrible with mega string buzz on the low E and A so I have had to settle for a higher action than I would like.
It spent two weeks at my local Luther where various people had a crack at solving the problem but not to be.
The intonation is a show stopper for me. It makes the guitar unplayable.
It's such a shame after waiting over 12 months. I am quite beat up over it. I had such high expectations.
BTW I got the JTV 69.
Cheers,
Jason

I can't begin to describe how not funny I find this piece of information.

For the guys in the UK I've just got notification that guitarguitar have just received a solitary JTV 59 TSB in stock:
http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/electric_guitars_detail.asp?stock=10071611020915
Get it while you can!!
As a stroke of coincidence I've also been informed by my local shop that my JTV 59 TSB - on order since 2 Jan - has also been received and is ready for shipping. It looks like we're slowly getting there.
I'll post first impressions etc when I receive the guitar.

Well I enjoyed your post.
The fact is that there is something fishy about Line 6, JTV guitars, and distribution to Canada. I suspect that it is somehow related to politics... but maybe more along the lines of Line 6 internal politics. Either way, this whole JTV fiasco has rubbed me the wrong way.

Couldn't agree more!
You guys are not even remotely at the bottom of the list.

There is nothing covert going on here. I started looking into worldwide shipping not just Canada back in January and it is all way more complicated for many reasons, completely beyond my control and many times beyond Line 6 control. It is not sinister, just the way it is. There are many places that were waiting. I have been contacted by guys in Australia, Japan, New Zealand, South Africa, Argentina, Brazil, Israel, Turkey and many more. There is no way that I can explain it all. So I am sticking to just letting you know as much as I can.
Now, that said. Guitars are going to L&M and all over Canada. We are constrained on the 69 so there were fewer of those going but as I said, all guys who have ordered should be fulfilled very soon.
Constrained??? What does that mean exactly Rich??? Is there a manufacturing issue with the JVT-69, or is it more a parts availability problem? And does this constrained problem cover the Lower 48 as well? Yea I know you guys are stuffing a computer in a guitar and not tone pots like you said, but Line-6 manufacturing has been doing this kind of stuffing since 2003 and the Vax 500, havent you? Shouldnt we all have that issue resolved by now? Just asking what the constraints are... Thanks for the continued info!!!.... JVT-69 Preordered btw....

Currently Being ModeratedRe: Expected Release Date???
I was getting ready to celebrate my 1 year aniversary on the waiting list here on this forum, but now I received a mail that my guitar has been shipped from Thomann, and I have to call off the small and cozy virtual party I had planned,
so I guess that guitars are starting to appear in Europe. My excitement about the JTV has worn off a long time ago, but if the guitar is ok when I receive it, I hope that some of it will come back somehow when I start playing it. I am trying to stay positive and hope that I won't have any of the problems that has been mentioned here on the forum, so I cross my fingers and hope that it will be worth the wait. Whish me luck (please).
Best regards
Soren

Currently Being ModeratedRe: Expected Release Date???
Well, I finally got my JTV-59 TSB yesterday after a 9 month wait. Oddly enough, when I found out it had arrived I didn't exactly rush out to get it, I think the long wait dampened my excitement a bit. Anyway, I took the guitar out of its box yesterday evening and started the process of charging the battery and checking out the guitar. First impressions:
Overall, I'm happy with the way the guitar looks and feels. The TSB is a lot darker than it appears in photos but it's a nice colour. The set up of the strings was good and there's a nice ring to the guitar when played acoustically. Only a few minor issues with the cosmetics:
COSMETICS
- Selector Switch - this is a bit wobbly on the horizontal which makes it feel like a cheap switch
- Pickups - the neck pickup was very oddly set at an extreme angle from the strings. I don't know whether it's supposed to be like this (I've read posts saying they're not like normal humbuckers and need to be set further down), I'll have to wait and see
- Binding - the faux binding looks pretty realistic but strangely doubles in width as it rounds the cutaway. I've checked out photos online and it's meant to do that. It looks odd.
- Tuners - these are fine but the rear of them is blanked off with grey plastic stoppers. I've got a PRS SE made in the same factory and their stoppers are metal and engraved with PRS. A little detail but it would have given a nice feel of luxury to have the same done with the JTV.
THE MODELS AND TUNING
Due to the lack of excitement mentioned earlier I only played the guitar for a few minutes last night. I came to it this morning with a lot more excitement only to find the battery had gone flat (mental note - unplug the lead at night). After the battery had charged and a good couple of hours messing around I have to say I'm both impressed with the models and the tuning. The guitar allows me to do what I bought it for, explore different sounds and get access to a whole new songbook without the hassle of tuning and re-tuning. I'm playing Kashmir in DADGAD on a Danelectro and hammering some Stones classics in Open G (Blues G) on a Tele.
TIP
On the JTV 59 you access the extra pickup selections (i.e. the 5 strat pickups settings) and models (i.e. different Les Pauls) by pressing on the tuning knob and then moving the pickup switch. It doesn't tell you anywhere in the manual (correct me someone if i'm wrong) that when you do this the colour of the model selector button changes. Normally it's an orange colour, when you access the extra pickups/models it turns blue. I didn't know this when I started playing. Somehow I accidentally pushed in the tuning knob (and got the blue colour) with the result that all the models sounded out e.g. I dialled in a Ricky and got a Ricky 12 string....which made me think the models were rubbish!
I hope this helps and I appreciate there are people on this board who have waited a lot longer than I have. Like earlier posters have said, stick with it if you can. I've had loads of fun this afternoon on this guitar and it's really given me a bit of renewed enthusiasm.

'Only a few minor issues' Famous Last Words!
After I'd finished my last post with first impressions of my JTV-59 I went back to the guitar, turned everything on and started to play. I immediately noticed the guitar jumped in tone and volume as I worked through a song. I tried another model setting, the modded Tele, this was very muddy and loud - I strummed a few chords and suddenly it became trebly and quiet. I tried a few more models with the same issue.
The issue doesn't replicate itself when I turn off the models and just use the mag pickups. I unplugged and plugged in the guitar lead and started again with the same result on the models. I'm now fully charging my battery (it was 3/4 charged before so likely not the cause of the problem) and will see if the issue persists on a full charge.

Anyone else had this problem?
