Preventing Vetta Glitches - FYI

For those of you who are new here, or those who are dealing with an aging Vetta, here's a tip that's served me well for a couple of years now.
The Vetta (I have a Vetta II Combo 2.50) seems to be incredibly sensitive to voltage dips and spikes and low voltage conditions. Mine is no exception. I've seen my vetta do stupid stuff like go nuts at a jam session when the window unit air conditioner came on. Things like that usually require that the amp be powered off and back on (if the damn thing survives at all). I can't stand stuff like that.
A couple of years ago, after sending my Vetta to a place called TSI in New Jersey and having a long talk with an amazing tech there, i went out and bought one of these:
http://www.tripplite.com/en/products/model.cfm?txtModelID=2833
It's a voltage regulator, street price is around $150.00. To me, that's an insurance policy. Since I started using this, my Vetta has never once been plugged in to anything but this regulator, and i have NEVER had an issue with or glitch in the amp. I attribute this to the regulator, since nothing else has changed.
There are any number of devices like this available, and i'm not advertising for Tripplite. The one shown in the link above is small enough, doesn't weigh much (six or seven pounds, i think), and has the capacity to handle the load of the amp. I also plug my Stroboflip power supply into it, as it has lots of outlets on the back (and i hate stuff that runs on batteries).
This is NOT a power strip!! This device takes whatever voltage is available from the wall outlet, and converts it to 120 VAC 60 Hz. It does it on the fly, so when there's a spike or dip in the outlet power, your amp never feels it.
This is NOT a UPS. There's no battery in this device, so when the power goes off, you do, too.
So, consider this, if you will. It works for me.
Good Luck,
Joe
