FBV Express MKII not working with POD HD in loop mode.

I have now heard from several people with the same problem.
So there may be a problem with production.
May be something to look into!
Bill
Hi Bill,
definitely something to look into. I can confirm the bug, too. The switches on the Express MKII don't correspond to the buttons on the Pod HD in looper mode. With 1/2 speed it's better, but e.g. you still can't bring the looper out of dub in mode with the A switch on the Express MKII.

Here are others:

..mine ist doing the same...so I don´t think a new fbv express mk2 will solve the problem...
Stephen Abramson:
I'm having the same problem. I have an FBV Express MKII and Pod HD desktop. Selecting presets and toggling effects works fine, but when I'm in looper mode, everything is haywire.

RE: FBV Mll still not working correctly with Pod HD desktop
baranger,
I was able to reproduce the problem that you are experiencing and have logged a bug for this problem. We hope to see this fixed in a future update.

The problem is not a hardware issue with the FBV Express MKII. It would appear to a be a bug in the POD HD Bean's current internal operating system software.
We've logged a bug for this issue for software to investigate and respond accordingly. No ETA is available at this point, but we do apologize for the inconvenience. The only solution would have to come in a bug fix of a potential future OS/firmware update via Monkey.
In the interest of having more specific information to provide to the test lab and software teams, can you guys respond with recipes of the actions attempted? For example, "everything is haywire" is a bit difficult for a software test engineer to understand. If you could be more specific, that will be greatly helpful in our getting more info to them for a resolution...
Please be as specific as possible, i.e.: Enter into Looper Mode on the POD HD Bean (software version # ???). Then, hit "A" on my FBV Express MKII (software version # ???). Note that it RE: FBV Express MKII not working with POD HD in loop mode. initiate RECORD, etc.
Thanks in advance guys.
Thanks Perry.
Here is the info:
I am using the current firmware for both the POD HD desktop and FBV Express MKll supplied via Monkey as of 8/15/2011
When in looper mode:
1) I can only toggle on. I can't toggle off. If I hit play, and hit play again, the loop playback does not stop. same with record: if I hit record once, it starts recording, but hitting record again does not stop recording.
However...
2) If I enable half speed or reverse, then I can toggle play on and off. also, I can hit record to start recording, and hit record again to stop recording and start playback. But if I dub in, I can't dub out. And I still can't toggle half speed or reverse, I can only enable.
Thx for filing the bug... and yeah... mine shows the exact same behavior.
Best...
Thomas
Same issue in the looper mode that Barager1 reported and same behavior even with the very last firmware :
- FBV Express MKII works fine in non-looper mode (selecting presets)
- but in looper mode, same stuff than already reported.
Is this looper bug fixed yet?
How could this obvious bug not have been detected before the HD bean was released?
Seems like Line 6 never even tested the HD Bean in looper mode with the fbv.
The test team is not doing a good job here.
Hopefully this bug and the other ones will be fixed next year. ![]()
