Line6 HD300 -> PA

Hi!
I'm thinking of connecting my Line6 POD HD300 to the PA by XLR Cables.
An Sound Enginer told me that i should connect the the HD300 to the PA through a DI Box, because i'll loose signal until it reaches the PA.
Is it necessary? The HD300 is not powerful enough to deliver the signal to the PA?
Any advice?
Thank you!

A DI box is not necessary. Depending on the quality of the XLR cables there may be some signal loss over very long distances, but unless we're talking about a huge hall or an arena a pair of good quality cables will do just fine for your typical gig setup.
Just make sure your POD HD300 output mode is set to Studio.
Thank you. In the next gig I'll connect direct to the PA.
Silverhead is correct. The Balanced Output XLR's are DI outputs (mic-level signal). Be sure to set the switch mode to "Studio" for best results.
Thanks Perry.
