Recording a real amp with UX2

Hi everyone,
I'm having trouble setting up my Line 6 UX2 interface. What I want to do is to put a mic (SM57) on my amp's speaker and run that into the ux2. Then, I want the sound to go into garageband, where I could put on delay and reverb, and eq/mixing and what not. How would I go about doing this? I'm using a MacBook Pro, and my amp hase a headphone/recording out jack.
I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but I'm entirely new to this and I have no idea what I'm doing--I just don't want to blow anything up lol. And if you could please explain it in layman's terms that would be great haha.
Thanks in advance,
Adam
Use the UX2 that same as you would to record your guitar directly, but have the inputs selected to Mic1 instead of Instrument.
In Garageband, you might want to select UX2 sends 3&4, which will be the dry sends.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
