DSP Failed to load model correctly.

Every tone I choose, I get this error, DSP failed to load model correctly. You may not hear the selected model. Reason: (Code 80007104) Failed to write to firmware. It goes away after a little while, or after selected a tone which I called Blank, which has no settings. But, after updating the drivers and the software, no matter what tone I click I still get this error.

I've had this problem for ooh, lets see.. since I bought it. I tried getting help with another problem I had, which was Riffworks line 6 not activating, and failing to activate. That got marked as "Solved", even though I never posted anything about it being fixed, guess what, still have that problem. I'm starting to get just slightly annoyed, putting it politely. I bought the product around the middle of january to replace my Floor Pod which took up too much room, and had difficulty recording from it. But, I might just as well go back to it as this useless waste of space burgandy plastic thing on my desk is working as a paper weight right now.

Any help?

    Hello,

The problem may be that you are not using software that is compatible with your Windows 7 OS.  Please go the following link to download/install the Gearbox 3.72 software installer for your Windows 7 Operating System, which also includes the Line 6 monkey intelligent updater and the latest drivers for your Line 6 product.

I have been getting this exact same error for every preset I try to load.  Gearbox ran great with my Vista machine and I just got a new Windows 7 64-bit computer, I've installed all the sotware (gearbox, monkey, drivers, etc.) FIVE times now and I still get this error.  The Line 6 sound module is set-up in my sound hardware profiles and everything.  This is driving me nuts because I can't record any guitar stuff.  Was this not tested on Windows 7 properly or something???  UGH!

Same problem here also.  Toneport UX 2.  Tried reinstallation, no luck, been using this software for years now, wish it would work on my new windows 7 computer.  By the way the processor is i5 if that's any help.

Same problem here too. I just spent hours reading the gearbox manual and when it came time to finally check it out I'm having this trouble! Looking forward to this being resolved. Windows 7 x64 bit. TonePort KB37

Same error as well.  I use a TonePort UX2 on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.  I don't get the error when I use the "default" models that came with the UX2, but I get the error when I use any of the model packs that I purchased.  I'm using version 4.1.1.7 drivers, version 1.01 USB Firmware, GearBox version 3.72.0, Monkey version 1.34.  I have the same issue with POD Farm version 1.12, but it does not display an error message - I get a "clean" tone since none of the models load.

Re: DSP Failed to load model correctly.

I'm having the same problem as everyone else here, and it doesn't really seem like the Line 6-people get that it's a problem that has to do with running the software on 64-bit OS. The Windows 7 "compatible" drivers obviously aren't working on the 64-bit version of W7. I've spent over $300 on model packs and Podfarm 2, and NOTHING is working. I'm starting to get more than a little ****** off now.

Same problem here.. Windows 7, 64 bit... So they simply just havent made any support for it? Anyone know if they're planning to release something?

I'm really tempted to see how much force i can apply to my GX before it cracks open, since that seems the only thing it can do.

Re: DSP Failed to load model correctly.

I finally got gearbox and podfarm to work with my UX2 (not the POD Studio UX2) by installing a non-Intel chipset USB 2 card - specifically, this one with an NEC 720101chipset: Rosewill NEC 4+1 Ports USB 2.0 PCIE Card Model RC-503.  I bought it on Newegg for $20.

When I first bought the UX2 many years ago I had the same issue with the Intel-based USB port on my computer's motherboard.  I had to install a PCI USB card to correct the issue back then.  Line 6 has known about this issue for years and there is no reason that this issue shouldn't be resolved by now, or at least they should state explicitly that this hardware isn't compatible with the Intel chipset.

Re: DSP Failed to load model correctly.

I had this same problem after exchanging my PC for a newer model with Windows 7, 64 bit: updated software and drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled countless times. And then I tried a different USB cable - and bingo! For everyone who has this problen: Just try using a shorter and higher quality USB cable!

Re: DSP Failed to load model correctly.

      Another "funny" solution.

I got the same Problem - only the add models did not work on my new windows 7 PC.

I disconnected the UX2 from a USB2 Port (I had 6 of them) to a USB 3 Port (if that does speed up things - I DONT KNOW) ... but now all models are working fine - no error message.

      good luck! XRAYSIMON

Re: DSP Failed to load model correctly.

OK. Sorry ! It seemed to work. But on that USB3 Port the Audio Drivers did

not work at all - so the models were loading perfekt in the gear box, but no sound.

Strange thing is that ... when you open a LINE6 Device in REASON and select

one of the add model (fx junky or others) it works (you can hear the sound,

but you can´t edit em anymore. ... oh my god!

I just changed from an old XP-PC where everything worked fine but the power

did not get all the new projects ... so what s next to do ?

Re: DSP Failed to load model correctly.

Ive tried everything under the sun, I have the latest drivers etc. De-installed and Re-Installed even bought shorter usb cable etc. Still same issue DSP failed to load, some settings will work others dont work. I will never puchase anything from you guys again, as I asked and I was told it works on 64 bit operating system which is not true. I installed on a 32 bit XP machine and it all works fine, but not on Windows 7 64 bit. All of you suggestions are a waist of time for 64 bit systems.

Re: DSP Failed to load model correctly.

I'm the proud owner of a Toneport UX2, DI GOLD, 2 Toneport GX's and a Guitarport when they were on my XP systems.  I've given all of them away to students of mine with xp systems as none work with any of my windows 64 bit systems.  I've been producing music from the old C-Lab Notator days in the early 90's and have used lots of different soundcards and systems and it's a crying shame that windows 7 won't work with the line 6 gear I have.  It was top notch stuff with the XP computer systems and worked on all of them for many years.  By the way none of my students have gotten any of these boxes to work with windows 7.  I hope Line 6 can figure it out as all of the suggestions listed on the multiple threads here and elsewhere don't work for me or my students that want to upgrade to their newer win 7 computers.   Is it a coding issue?

Re: DSP Failed to load model correctly.

I have now given up on the Line 6 products, since they obviously have no clue how to fix the compatability issues, and the tech support is a joke. They haven't even answered my request for a refund for the modelling packs I bought that doesn't work. I bought myself an Avid Eleven Rack instead. It comes with Pro Tools, and it works straight out of the box. Problem solved.
