I'm not sure I follow you? You don't need to authrise your HD500 to use it, and any licenses, like POD Farm, while they support being used with your HD500, youcan't install the license to your HD500. you would authorise your PC and then use POD Farm with your HD500.
I hope this answers your question

actually im having the same issue....
pod farm wont run in full mode unless i connect my studioGX..... while i can physically use my hd500 as an interface to pod farm, it only allows the demo version..
seems kinda silly to have to connect both devices at the same time if the hd500 can run both.. my computer is authorized but pod farm is connected to the GX only...

+1 to rowbi, the HD pods don't authorize for anything because there are currently no optional licenses available to be authorized. you aren't missing anything.... if your computer is authorized your licenses from your account will be available.

I just upgraded my gear from PODXT Live to POD HD500. I bought POD Farm years ago, but had never had any succes getting it to work with my POD XT Live. Reason worked very well with my good old POD XT Live connected, but my new POD HD500 doesn't seem to work the same way with Reason (sound is fine though and HD500 comes up in settings - no problem) and by launch Reason comes up with this message (as it also does if XT Live isn't connected):
Just wanted to share this issue - let me know if you have any suggestions though
