Running my JTV 59 through a Pod HD500...love it...just miss the ability to smack my acoustic body for a "kick" sound and wonder if anyone has a hint for me to get one out of it? Gotta be a way...thanks in advance, love the group/gear...
I've tried the different sounds on the jtv with different presets on the HD500 and it sounds good when playing soft or finger picking, but when I strum hard it seem too muddy, like it's peaking. Even some of the HD500 presets sound horrible with a very distorted sound on the acoustic presets. Ive checked the outputs and everything on the hd and can't figure it out. Anyone gotta clue?
Also, I've played some hours yesterday using only the VDI cable and the battery level stayed the same, shouldn't it have charged during those playing hours???
Hello,
the VDI-cable only makes it possible to play your JTV without using the battery, but it doesn't recharge it. That's normal.

Benni
Check out the firmware update for the hd500...there are now some really good acoustic presets. helped me a ton. I'd choose acoustic 1 or acoustic 3 for acoustic sounds...also, what are you playing through? It's almost a necessity to design your sounds using the exact speakers/pa you'll use live.
Have you tried to change the tone control on your jtv? what it does is to "move" the position of the "modeled" microphone of the acoustic guitar, maybe you can get a better effect by that way
I've tried all above, but the most helpful thing seems to be tweeking the parametric EQ. Still don't understand why most acoustic presets on the HD500 (1.4) sound so distorted, makes no sense to me!
Stay in the mix and in the know.
