I think you can do that easily by re-installing the update and, when asked if you want to keep your user preset, click on "no".
I also believe it's recommended to save your presets using Line6 edit before re-installing the update ;-)

yeah but I have custom setlist of mine allready installed.what should I do?save all my presets, reinstall ,choose no when I am asked to keep my presets?I need to have the presets separate cause I want to put them manually into my setlists. Are the new presets a whole new playlist ,or just 5-10 alone presets?

Same as Drunkard, I have created my own setlists and edited my own best of, so it may be a lot of work to restore everything like I want, while I'm only interested in some bass tones.
So publishing the tones on custom tones (even better if it is posted by the line 6 account !) would be a nice idea.

well... there's 5 different HD devices, and not a single mention of which one you guys are referring to...
just saying... that info might be important...
some of the new presets don't apply to the HD bean for instance... as they revolve around line6link and variax connections that the bean doesn't have.
if it's the HD500 you can download the setlists here:

I would suggest that you use POD HD Edit to create back ups of all of your setlists, you can also save a bundle which is all of your setlists in one file. From there you would perform the flash memory update, tell Monkey that you do not have to keep your presets. This will install all of the new presets into your POD. From there you can then organize and manage your setlists and tones however you like.
I would suggest to reload your saved setlists into the empty user banks, you then can use the setlist view within HD edit to organize your presets between setlists.
