Expression pedal not stomped down, still hearing traces of the effect

I just got my new Pod HD500 for christmas and love it so far, the only issue I am having with it is that even when my expression pedals are at heel to ground position, I still hear strong aspects of the effect that I only want to be triggered when I use the expression pedal. This has happened even with my minimum level set to 0% so I am confused why, at a minimum level of 0%, the effect is still easily recognized. The pedal does its job by making it more intense when I press down, but the effect never fully goes away when I release. For what reasons could this be / is there a way to fix it?
Hey i think i may have figured it out....i got mine for christmas too and i just tried this...wasn't able to test it though
In the pilots guide......if you go to pedal calibration it tells you some steps you should do before using it (not that its bad if you used it already) but i think that should do the trick. Though like i said before i havent used it after i did the steps so i dont know if that solves the problem... hope it helps!
Yes, I think Kixmasters is right. The procedure for pedal calibration on an HD500 is here --> http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2223#comment-3538
