Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows if I can put what I have on one of my M13's and put it directly on to my other M13 without using a computer. Is that possible? thanks
Hmmm, I would think there would be a good chance it would work. You would just do a MIDI dump from the one you're copying from to the one you're copying to. It would be worth giving it a shot.
The instructions on how to do the MIDI dump on the first unit are in this document: http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-1806
I think for the receiving unit, you wouldn't have to do anything other than hook up the MIDI cable.
I seriously doubt it would work. I'm not even sure it's a good thing to try as you wouldn't want to corrupt your new M13. That could leave it in a state where it may not accept a restore or factory reset.
Go the safe route and back up the original, then restore to the other M13.
I see where you're coming from, but I don't know if it's that big of a deal. All you're doing when you do a MIDI dump to a computer is sending the sysex data from the M13 to the computer. The program is just recording the data stream. When you send it back from the program, it's just streaming it back to the M13. It's pretty basic MIDI stuff going on.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
