usb firmware update failure

hi all just bouught the hd300. downloaded monkey and edit onto my vista laptop. monkey and edit appear fine. monkey says it doesnt recognise my usb firmare version and states 1.01 is 'latest'. the yellow warning triangle is showing so i have tried to update several times but after clicking agree i get an error message box saying the usb connection to my pedal isnt working and to try unplugging and replugging - done that - no joy.

monkey knows my pedal is an hd300 and shows it as connected but the update is obviously failing to recognise the connection for some reason. it did allow me to uplad the latest flashware which took some minutes without a hitch but that option wont work now . .  whether cos its already done it or for some other reason i have no idea . . .  can anyone help me ? regards, steve

          Re: usb firmware update failure

I have the exact same problem. So now I'm using my brand new HD 300 by itself and I'm not going to connect it to my Mac until Line 6 has solved the problem.

So far, I have been really disappointed with the unit, but now I've bought it, I'll have to persevere I guess.

And line 6 tech support sucks!

I bought the HD 300 has 2 days and I have the same problem. It affects this problem? Edit the parameters from my computer and it recognizes. You could tell me what the problem that brings the USB firmware is not updated?

    Re: usb firmware update failure

I'm having a similar issue with the POD HD Bean. I understand alot of people get the issue when using a USB hub rather than going directly to the PC/laptoop. I am going directly to the laptop in Windows 7. The error reads:

    POD HD update failed

(Code 80007104) Failed write to firmware

Try the update again, making sure the cables are still connected.

The cables are of course connected just fine. Is anyone else here using a laptop?

BTW, I've been supremely impressed with the community support around here.

    Thanks,

    Re: usb firmware update failure

I'll try it on a PC tomorrow rather than a laptop. I've actually been quite impressed with the unit for it's worth. Just can't wait to use POD HD edit, won't work until the firmware is upgraded.

I work in IT so as soon as I saw a problem I stopped wasting the hours drank some vodka with the girlfriend and listened to Pinkfloyd for a few hours. It pisses you off now but when it's fully working it'll give us countless years of love. Let's look forward to that

Check out the master of puppets solo preset if you have yet. Nails it in a way I never thought possible. Can't wait to hook this up through the power section of my SV.

How are you all planning to use your POD?

Yeah i installed the latest versions on all of the software when i got my new computer....had ZERO issues on my old computer, when i got my pod i had the old flash memory and updated it to version 1.31 no problems...now i cant update the firmware...my pod seems to work fine and i can still connect to my DAW so i dunno, but i wont be able to update anything from here on in till this gets squared away...im thinking ist something with the latest version of monkey..

You're looking for help, but you created a post that no one from Line 6 will see. You need to start a discussion in one of the official forums and mark it as a question. More details on posting a question can be found in the FAQ "Using Line 6's Online Technical Support System" (http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-1451).

      Hi Hollis1003

I have read the document and I have posted a question regarding this, and I'm not the only one.

Still no reply from Line 6...

Anyway, I had my first band practice last night using my new HD 300 and it was great. I just won't try to update anything on it until this issue is resolved.

But others have had more dire problems with their unit malfunctioning or not even working at all.

Once upon a time, all I had was a strat, a Fender Twin and a compressor, and it worked just fine, for years!

      Getting old...

Same problem here. Actually, two problems, besides this one, the screen on my hd300 sometimes shows the configuration of the (Drive-Mass-Mid-Treble-Ch Vol) without me handling it, when that happens, I have to turn it off. Is that happening to somone else?

    Re: usb firmware update failure

This is a bug in Line 6 Monkey 1.50. We suggest downloading and using Monkey 1.43 to update your Flash Memory, it can be downloaded from the link below:

    Monkey 1.43 Windows:

    http://line6.com/getrelease?rid=4223

    Monkey 1.43 Mac:

    http://line6.com/getrelease?rid=4222

When the update asks if you would like to save presets, select 'NO' and continue with the update.  This should resolve the issue. The other option is you can download and use Monkey 1.43 and use it to update your Flash Memory:

The other option is to stay with Monkey 1.50 and when the update asks if you would like to save presets, select 'NO' and continue with the update. Make sure to back up your custom presets before updating your POD's firmware using the instructions at the link below:

    http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2613

Once the firmware has been successfully updated to v1.40, you will need to perform a Global Settings reset and a pedal calibration using the instructions at the link below:
