Ok, I'm 15, I know a lot more than most kids, but am still learning. I know about the symbols but I am trying to learn how to assign the tap tempo footswitch to control the speed of my delays.

Gregr has supplied you with the settings that enable the tap tempo for your patch.
The delays are all expressed either in mS (thousandths of a second) or in note divisions (as per gregr). If you select mS then the tap switch does not do anything. If you select note divisions then the tap switch becomes active.
Choose a delay (say digital) and set it to quarter notes. Now tap the tap switch in time to the music your are playing (4 beats to the bar). Your echo should now follow the beat.
