I could infact use my original gearbox plugin without my ux2 plugged in. I paid for the plugin as a seperate program. This has been several years ago but yes, you are wrong. I know this because I didnt drag the ux2 with me to mix and was still able to use the plugins. I havent had need to do this for a couple of years. Now when I load a track with out my ux2 or ux8 attached, any plugins I had previously inserted on any tracks stop working. I infact have pod farm 2.5 but it wont work unless the ux8 is attached. What a pain. I am involved in several projects at the moment and Im not dragging my huge ux8 all over the place to work on mixes with different people. So I end up just loading guitar rig to avoid this hassle. I like the line 6 sound and would like to use it more often but this limitation completley negates the benifit of having a laptop and being able to be mobile. If any know an option that would free me from this tether and not cost another $300.00 I would be most apreciative. I have invested close to $2,000.00 in line6 hardware and software at this point but if I cant take my sounds with me its all worthless. When guitar rig does it all with out the pain of being tied to an extra piece of gear to to lug around what reason do I have to hang on to all this expensive stuff that no longer fits the way I work. This is a critical flaw.
