Uncensored-Like advice on a gig setup

I'm the singer and bassist to the band uncensored. I need a new and o.k. PA system + a bass amp. I was think of getting a POD xt live or X3 live and running it through a PA system. Would that work and give me good sound.

I have $1800 to spend can anyone give some ideas on PA's or Amps. Thanks!

P.S. Uncensored just finished a new album and we want to perform but all are stuff kinda SUCKS.

I personally use my X3Live through the PA for both guitar and bass.  I love it.  The main thing to worry about however is to make sure you get some good full range speakers.  15"s at the minimum.  Horns wouldn't be bad either. =)

        Hey,

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you.  I haven't figured out how to figure out when a thread I've posted in has been replied to. =)

        Anyway, to answer your questions:

Thanks. I have a couple of questions?

        1. With the X3 do you hear the tube/hybrid/s.s. amp sound you hear in the headphones?

I do hear those sounds.  However, some tweaking is needed sometimes (usually at the board).

        2. I have $1300 for a PA. What brand would you recommend best. Hear is a few: Yamaha Mackie Behringer Carvin B-52

I'm a Peavy guy, but I've heard good things about Mackie & Carvin.  Bottomline, just make sure that you get something that will suit your needs.  A board that has phantom power (if you use condenser mics), stereo inputs, USB, etc.  When purchasing, it's always a good idea to get a few extra features that you may not immediately use.  That way you have expanability in the future.
