I think it's great that you have a place that stocks Line 6 gear. I also think it is great that you got your salesman to try the amp out and hear just some of what the amp can do. I've complained, suggested, and even offered my services to go out and educate all these retailers about how each piece of Line 6 gear works. I still think this is the company's single biggest problem in the retail market place no matter how many Spider amps have been sold.
What freaks me out is the comment "Too many knobs" by your salesman. Has he never seen a Fender Twin or any of the other Fender amps like that? Other companies like Peavey that are in nearly every store because they are inexpensive? Even some Marshall models starting back with the 30th anniversary model have three channels and lots of knobs. And he thought the DT50 has too many knobs? Really...? Wow!!
All the best,

Hey Thank you for the tip. Now that I sit here reading this, I'm kinda kickin' myself that I didn't check this initially upon receiving the amp and then when the problem started, I've had enough tube amps over the years. I must have a "block" for whatever reason with the DT50 when It comes to veiwing and caring for it as a tube amp.
I'm definately going to give it a tube exam and see if that cleans that up. Even if it's not the cause...I should've done this long ago.
Good story too about the music store experience.

It was me that made the suggestion to reseat the tubes. It's a common tube amp problem, especially when the amp is moved a lot. I'm glad it helped, I take Visa, Mastercard and American Express, lol!
