Hi,
I am having difficulties to connect my POD 2.0 to my laptop via midi-usb cable.
I got MIDIMATE II cable plugged in my POD. Its a plug&play interface so the drivers automatically installed in my pc.
I downloaded Line6 Monkey and the program recognized the POD, updated versions and installed Line 6 Edit. So far so good.
When I tried to run Line 6 edit the program couldnt connect to the POD, I followed directions given in a setup help message when you run Line 6 Edit.
Reinstlled it and let it install the proper Java version. Nothing happened. It seems odd that Monkey is able to connect to the POD but Edit can't.
Any suggestions ?
What version of Line 6 Edit, and what version of Java? Have you downloaded the latest L6 Edit from http://line6.com/software ?
Yes I did, In fact the first time I let Monkey download it. Then I tried several times my self. I also tried few different java versions (including 1.6.0 that L6 Edit recommends).
Odd that Monkey will see it and Edit won't. Can you send a screen shot of Edit's connection screen?
this is Monkey. As you can see the POD is detected and fully updated.
this is L6Edit device detection screen. I repeatedly press Refresh but nothing appears. (MIDI cable is connected properly)
Trying to connect manualy via botton "Add". I choose my device (POD 2.)
As you can see the midi interface MIDIMATE II is detected and selected in the MIDI Input port
The POD is marked with a quetionmark since it cant be detected by L6 Edit.
By double clicking on the POD Icon this msg appears. I click continue and Edit runs but without any connection to my device as you can see in the final screenshot
Thank you for your time.
There is a problem. Take a look at the screen with the POD and question mark. For input it is saying MIDI Mate II, for output it is saying Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth. Both in and out should be MIDI Mate II. The problem is in your cabling or MIDI configuration.
Hi,
I see that the MIDI Mate II is class compliant. i.e. it is a plug n play device on Windows and it looks like it only supported Vista. I would look into a more robust interface as this definately could be the issue. The interface we recommend is the MIDI Sport UNO:

Thanks,

David, I have the same problem with the MIDI Mate as costpag82, but I use Windows 7 32 bits Home Premium but I can't see drivers for m-audio MIDI Sport UNO in your page. I saw Roland USB-MIDI, model Roland UM-ONE and the Yamaha UX-16, I would like what it is the most appropiated by my operative system,
thanks,
Michel Salomon
