Maybe this has been tried in your previous post (not sure if I saw it already/commented) but have you tried doing a 'safe mode' firmware update?
Hold the 'down' on the directional keypad when you power your pod on and then do the update.

+1 to jimreynolds, perform the global settings reset and expression pedal calibration after successfully updating the flash memory.
