hello
I just installed my ux1 and podfarm software on my new computer. since I knew the software on my cd(the one that came with the ux1) was out of date,I installed from the web instead.
I get the clean guitar through, but no models/sounds seems to have been loaded.
this is on a new tochiba laptop with intel core i7 and windows7
both computer and my ux1 are authorized and so are the extra modelpacks. but all I get is clean guitar with an occasional click
does my old computer need to de deauthourized even if the new one is authorized?
should I reinstall using the cd even if the cd is out of date
could this be a setup issiue where I have missed something?
I've been siting with this all day and is geting frustrated..
thankfull for any reply

What do you see in Line 6 License Manager when you run it? Which version of POD Farm have you installed, and are you licensed for that version?
YOu do not have to deauthorize your old computer. Do not use the CD's EVER. Hide them in a dark place and forget where you put them.
I am running podfarm 2.51
the licence manager states my computername followed by "authorized yes" and ux1 "authorized yes"
and confirming my metalshopand powerpack add on's
the monkey confirms I have the latest drivers installed

It doesn't sound like you have a license for POD Farm 2.51. Uninstall it and install POD Farm 1.12.

well, it was included when I bought the ux1 and has been running flawlessly on my old computer for months.
..anyway, I reinstalled podfarm twice and now it works...sort of...I get dropouts and stuttering from the ux1 when using it as soundcard both with and without podfarm...but that's a different thread..I'll do some reading and trying before I'll pestering about that issiue..![]()
thank's for the help

hello
looks like you need optimizing your system for audio: please see http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-4201 and http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2085

with a lot of help from a friend I partly solved my cuting out problem tonight( but not the poping and intermitent noises), and if it helps someone else, here it is
I went through the suggested documents twice without succes, but when I disengaged the ethernet card in my laptop, cpu usage whent down from 20% on all cores to 5% on one core and the cuting out/going silent for a second went away.
with the ethernetcard disengaged I can run spotify and ampfarm at the same time and play along with streamed music over wifi. this was not possible before
I am not too computer savvy, but the cpu behavior suggests to me there is an undetected conflict between the line6 software and the ethernet driver.
My laptop, again is a new toshiba satelite L750 with windows7 and the ethernet card in question is Atheros AR8152/8158
I will go through all the tips again tomorow and see if I can sort the poping out too, when I'm not tired
for now, good night..

ok, last reply to this thread..
going through the line6 documents and turning off things did little if anything( I think the frequency of the nuting, poping and crackling whent down)
turning off the Ethernetcard fixed the sound muting complely for a second every ten second
turning off the wifi fixes the poping and crackling
I really love the sounds and what I can do with line6 products, but really. this must be considered a bug. having to revert a lot of functions to the standard of 10 years ago or more and isolating the computer from the outside world really shouldn't be necessery on a modern computer running a several year old O.S. and I think Line6 should revise the drivers considering the number of threads on this subject
anyway, it works now and I'm happy again..
