Spider IV 75 Firmware, Updates and Factory Reset

I recently picked up a pre-owned Spider IV 75. When powereing on it shows "Spider IV 75 1.04" on the display.  Is this the latest firmware available for this amp?

If this version of the firmware has been flashed/updated from a previous firmware version, if I do a Factory Reset will the firmware revert back to the previous version, or will it stay at 1.04?

Is it possible to determine if this amp has been updated with any of the Spider FX Infusion updates?  If so, how would I do that, or determine if it was FX version 1.52 or FX version 2.00?  Please note I only have the original FBV Express which does not include the USB port.

If this amp was indeed updated with a Spider FX Infusion update, if I do a Factory Reset, will the Spider FX Infusion updates stay on the amp, or will they go away?

Finally - is there any other way to connect this amp up to a computer without the use of an FBV footswitch?

Thanks!

John

I think the only way to plug into the USB port is with the FBV shortboard MKII,

as it needs a USB to firewire plug, not sure about the Express board, if it does not have the plugin for it, you may not be able to update your amp.

also you need to register the product before it will read it in the Line 6 Monkey program which you need to have installed to update your amp's flash.

i just bought mine 2 weeks ago, and i'm still in the learning process.. now i'm trying to learn how to install new sounds. not sure in the Monkey program will do that.

maybe i need POD Farm program also.?

Re: Spider IV 75 Firmware, Updates and Factory Reset

Doing a factory reset will not delete the current version of firmware or any Fusion updates, but will reset the preamp DSP settings so that the User presets and Amp model defaults revert back to the factory ones.

You need EITHER an FBV Express MkII or FBV Shortboard MkII to do any firmware updates oor Fusion downloads to the amp, there is no other method.

V 1.04 is the current version of the Spider IV firmware.  I think the only way to tell if your amp has had the Fusion update (1.52 or 2.0) is by looking at the effects when you go into edit mode.
