JTV Sale Price Alert Thread

Greetings,
I find myself frequently checking on both retail and eBay prices for the JTV-69. If it jives with the forum's rules (Think so...?) why not keep an open thread on sales or deals on JTV guitars for those like me JTV GAS but a budget to live by. I don't know of a site that tracks prices for instruments, but something like what dealmac.com does for electronics would be awesome. Is anyone is aware of a site where the JTV could be tracked? If not, why not here? I'd certainly appreciate being appraised of a sale that could bring the price down from the standard retail of $1299 (JTV-89), $1399 (JTV-69) and $1499 (JTV-59), and I'll bet others would too.
I frequently see eBay deals for $1199-1250 for a JTV-69. That's still outside what I could expect my wife to accept in good humor.
So, anybody hear of a great deal?

for the most part, retailers will get in trouble selling it below MAP (minimum advertised price, per their contract) for this reason prices tend to be the same pretty much anywhere....
there are those ebay dealers that sell under a few bucks on the sly...
even they don't go too low... since they know you can't get a new one very low...
your best bet is used for saving a few bucks...
although if you have to have new... try looking for ads on ebay with the "best offer" option enabled... sometimes you can open a dialog and work with them to get a little better price.
I see some of the big internet retailers offer 15% off online coupons from time to time. Before Christmas, a lot of them were offering it. Last week, Music123 had them again.
If you read the small print on those coupons, there is a link to a list of manufacturers that are excluded. Line 6, Taylor, Martin, and many other big names are always excluded. Then they invite you to call for pricing, but I've never tried it.
I bought my JTV 69 and HD500 on-line from AMS (American Music Supply) as discounted blemished items. They have a satisfaction guaranty but I was totally happy with the purchases. They had very light "use" marks but that's it and they came packaged like new. I think the JTV was reduced $300 and the HD500 $100. That was several months ago but they may still have them occasionally.
I've noticed that the Guitar Center policy excludes Line 6 from online discounting, but if you can find it in-store, the discount can be applied. I got my HD500 with an in-store $100 off $600 coupon (had to get a few other things to make it $600).

Yes, Line6 is excluded from GC online coupons, but you can special order a JTV in a store and take advantage of the deals. I just got my JTV-59 TSB a few weeks ago from GC for $1200 and 0% for 12 mos. financing because of a deal they were running. Had to wait a week for it to be shipped, but well worth it! Loving my 59 so far.
Thanks Hey Joe. This is exactly the kind of thing I was talking about. Still isn't in my range yet, but I hope someone here sees this and picks it up. Saw a 3-tone burst 69 for $1100 on ebay, used.

If anyone is interested in a used JTV there is a TSB 59 here for 1099.96
I can't link to the JTV page directly, it is the first result if you search "Variax" on the main page.
self promoting post....
i have a black JTV59, with a minor scratch on it... 1250, i'll ship (USA)/paypal.

Just found this on "Hello Music". http://www.hellomusic.com/ec/DealMain.aspx?did=14290
Black JTV-59, $1259
I saw this today too. Really surprised me to see a JTV on there. At first, they were offering the Cherry, but later in the day it changed to Black. But I really like "Hello Music." It's fun to get those emails every day to see what they are offering next. You can get some really good deals. A couple of weeks ago, I picked up a new L6 HD500 for $345 due to their low price plus a $30 "first time buyer" discount.
I got this in my email yesterday and today also... Hoping they'll put up a 69 at a price I can't resist.
Hellomusic.com has black and tobacco sunburst JTV 59's right now for $1159 ($1259 minus coupon code for $100 off, enter code ralph100 at checkout, expires 4/22 9 AM US Pacific time).
Hopefully they will list some 69s or 89s soon. ![]()
