Pitch Glide not working in Parallel Path (Channel B)

Hi,
I'm using a POD HD Desktop with FBV II foot controller.
I have an effects heavy patch and I want to move the pitch glide (Whammy) from start of chain into parallel path with no amp.
Chain is this:-
Q Filter (fixed wah) - A/B splitter ->
Channel A --> Screamer --> Classic Dist ---> Dealy w/mod ---> A30TB --> Mixer Left
Channel B --> Pitch Glide ---> No Amp --- Mixer Right
Mixer Output ---> Reverb --> USB Output
Previously Pitch Glide was following Q Filter and before A/B Splitter. On/off is set to EXP Toe switch, Exp 1 controls pitch.
Problem: When in parallel path there is no effect - the pitch glide does nothing like it isn't there. Mixer is set to 0dB 100% Right. Input 1 = Guitar, Input 2 = Mic, trim pot down.
I also notice there is no "Single Volume Control" in channel B AMP settings display panel - it shows all controls (Drive, Bass, Middle etc)
Any idea why this isn't working?
In addition - I can't add an AMP Sim in channel B because it hits the DSP limit.
You need to set input 2 to also be guitar, when you use dual paths input 1 goes to top path and input 2 goes to bottom, at present the pitch glide will only be affecting the mic input.
It would be easier if you could set it to a proper mono input structure but at present I believe this is the only way to do it
Hi Sidysm,
Thanks for your reply. If I understand you correctly, the A/B splitter DOES NOT IN FACT split a Mono signal into two? If true then it's presence seems irrelevant.
Does this represent the TRUE signal path in a POD HD (regardless of Input settings):-
Input 1 --> Mono Signal Chain to Mixer Input Left/A --> Mixer Output Channel A @ Left Stereo Pan Setting
Input 2 --> Mono Signal Chain to Mixer Input Right/B --> Mixer Output Channel B @ Right Stereo Pan Setting
So if both Mixer channels are centered you get a stereo output albeit centred in the stereo spread. You only get mono if you put a true mono FX after the mixer?
I may raise this as a different thread - because other Line 6 advice says use Guitar/Mic-Off to stop amps/FX overdriving. So there's a big conradiction here.
I have a separate post over on the thread here that takes the manual information. It might be worth chewing through that --> http://line6.com/support/message/356211#356211
It includes the following key statements ...
It goes on to say about FX
The trick then is to find a suitable effect to use as your splitter.
Thanks again Jim for your interest. I suspect that changing Input 2 to Same will get the Pitch Glide working, but from experience, I know I will also have to re-adjust all my EQ's and Levels on effects and amp sim, because the difference in Tone is significant. It's all the more frustrating having spent weeks already on the Mono tone fine tuning it exactly to the tone I hear on the song I am trying to cover.
You can use a noise gate at the begining of the signal chain, and adjust it to taste. No need of changing the input options by this way.
Best Regards,
Daf
Yeah, on the other thread it sounds like you have your head round the problem but aren't too keen on the way the input -> channel mapping has been implemented/described.
I totally hear your frustration but it sounds like you are gonna have to find a compromise, as it stands.![]()
