Hi, Does anyone know if I can plug my Pod Hd500 into the back of a VooDoo Lab Pedal Power 2 Plus? Thanks!
Working off the Specs here .... http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:awpCnJhURMoJ:www.voodoolab.com/pedalpower_2.htm+voodoo+lab+pedal+power+2+plus&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=uk&client=firefox-a (main site was down !).
It looks like the max voltage and current that the Pedalpower can supply is 9V, 250mA.
The Standard Line6 DC3-G power supply puts out 9V, 3000mA (i.e. 3 amps). That means that the Line 6 PSU can supply up to twelve times more current than the Pedal Power.
With that level of mismatch, I think there is very little chance that you can use the Pedal Power safely with the HD500 series. You actually run a fire risk if there is inadequte protection within the Pedal Power.
I wouldn't.
I think since he said "the back" he might be talking about the 120V AC "courtesy jack" on the back of the Pedal Power. That's has a max output of 200W, and the HD500 doesn't draw near that much. So that would be OK.
Ah! Well spotted.
Assuming that is the case, the DC3-G label says that it draws Max 27 Watts so yeah, that is will within spec.
If you want to use the standard power socket on the back then yes, you should be perfectly safe.
+1 to phil_m and jimsreynolds. I have a PP2+, and the HD500 can indeed be safely powered from the courtesy jack in the back. Safe travels.
Sweet! Thanks for all the input guys!
