help with POD X3 LIVE upgrades

whats with the song folder for the POD X3? is it good for the LIVE unit? it this a firmware upgrade or a software upgrade and how much stuff do i need to download to get this dinosaur up to snuff?  i got a REALLY good deal on it but it is VERY behind on upgrades.   send help to ramblinjrb@yahoo .com PLEASE!!!  is there any way to get this thing to record LOOPS?  it is a LIVE unit after all!!!

    The POD X3 family of modellers never had/have the ability to record audio samples/loops. You would need to use an outboard looping unit to accomplish that task.

     

    Only with the POD HD series of modellers did the internal processor and available memory storage space allow for the functionality of a looping algorithm to be included. There's also a Quick Looper on our Spider IV 75 watt and higher, Spider Valve MKII amps and M-Series Stompbox modellers.

     

    But with older POD's: POD original, PODxt and POD X3's... no onboard looper, soory.

     

    The "Song" folder is just a folder of sound program patches (stored knob settings for recall).
