Transferring Model Packs To A New Device

My old PodXt broke, so I replaced with a second hand one. I want to transfer the model packs to the replacement device. I followed the instructions, I have installed Monkey, run License Manager, and I have authorized the new device. However after that it has not given me the option to transfer or install on the device. I have turned on/off, what else can I do? I'm using Mac, as I did before with no problems. Help please. Tony.
I wasn't clear above. After I authorize teh device, it DOES then state aginst a big yellow exclamation mark "disabled add-ons need to be installed to your device. Click the install button to install these new add ons."
I then press install, it states programming hardware, takes a minute, I then, as aksed, disconnect and reconnect my device. The model packs appear in the license manager, but nothing has actually transferred to the pod, although I think the License manager thinks it has. Should I be doing anything else?
What version of flash memory does your new PodXT have?
Flash is not installed. Where there could be a green tick, there is just a question mark. It does not give me an opportunity to update selection.
Would anyone be able to help in how I get Flash installed given these circumstances, as that may be a clue as to why I have the problems mentioned above? In Line 6 monkey USB drivers and firmware all up to date, never had a probelm with flash on the previous unit. Thanks in advance.
You could try to reflash in safe mode.
Scroll to the bottom of this doc:
To Mr_Arkadin;s point, it may be your flash is 1.x, which does not have USB functionality.
But if Monkey is seeing your xt, tha tis likely not the case.
In the same doc there are instructions on how to find out what flash version you have without connecting to a PC
hello tg
I have cleared the authorisation cue of your old XT now, you may try again

Thanks for your suggestions, I do appreciate it.
Triryche - I looked through the documents, and I scrolled through to see what version of Flash I have, right to the end as it says, but it does not have any Flash reference. I have also started in safe mode, but then what should I do? I tried scrolling, but in safe mode, appears I can't do anything at all. I still have the grey question mark in Line 6 Monkey against Flash: Drivers, USB Firmware, Line 6 Mokey, Line 6 License Manager are all the latest version. I ahve nothing else installed if that helps.
Line6antonio - I have been to License Manager, and tried to transfer the model packs again as I interpreted your comment that it should now be possible, but I still have the same problem detailed above.
Any ideas what I do next?
everything looks OK in your account now
what makes you think your 3 Packs are not active?
please upload screenshots if needed

Thanks line6antonio, but everything does look fine in Line 6 Manager in my account, and the model packs are authorized to the new pod xt. However the issue is getting the model packs onto the new pod xt, that's my problem.
I am having this same problem. I bought a Pod xt off of ebay because my brother also owns a pod with the metal pack and the distortion sounds great. I have my device authorized but the metal shop pack is not appearing on my podxt.
hello
there is no 'transfer' or 'install' to be done: you're already done with the authorising
are the Models not present in your XT?
Hi line6antonio. No, the model packs are not present on my XT despite them appearing in License Manager as authorised..
After I authorized the model packs to the new device in my line 6 account, there was the option to install to the new device. I pressed install in Line 6 License Manager, it said programming hardware which takes a few minutes, then said disconnect and reconnect, which I did. License manager thinks that is it has completed, but nothing has changed on the XT. I have deauthorized the XT and re-authorised it a few times just to check and pressed install again, but no progress.
Do you think that is because I do not have Flash Memory on the XT as described above? I have tried to follow the instructions on how to install flash, and asked a couple of questions on that above as well after the advice that hasn't allowed me to make progress in solving this hugely frustrating issue. Do I need Flash memory at all?
All advice welcome.
can you please upload a screenshot of Monkey showing the 'Updates' tab and License Manager showing the XT?
thank you
I'll certainly do that if you could tell me how I do a screen shot and upload it. i use a MacBook Pro.Thanks.
Odd, you have an ESN which suggests the Pod is being seen by Monkey, but the "-" by the flash memory suggests that Monkey is not seeing the Pod.
Did you try reflashing in 'safe mode' as Triryche siggested?
Specifically:
"Q: How do I reflash in "safe mode"?
A: Safe mode can be used when a unit cannot be reflashed using the normal reflash procedure. Hold the first black soft key from the left (under the LCD readout) while powering the PODxt to start your unit in safe mode."
Also, you must have some sort of flash memory version. Did you try this:
"Please hit the TUNER button and scroll using the SELECT knob to the last page." There you should find out what version your Pod is on.
To answer the second question, when I hit tuner and scroll to the end it states POD XT Version 1.02.
On the first question, yes, I have started the XT in safe mode - I'm just not sure what I'm meant to do after that?
OK, now we're getting somewhere. V1.02 will NOT work with USB. You will not be able to authorise anything, use expansion packs, update flash memory etc. It is an early PodXT.
What you need to do is update the Pod using a MIDI cable first. Once this is done you will be able to use USB. If you have no MIDI device then the M-Audio MIDISport Uno is recommended by Line 6.
"Q: My unit cannot update via USB, and I have Flash Memory 1.0x. How do I update from Flash Memory 1.0x to a newer version?
A: First verify you have flash memory 1.0x. Please hit the TUNER button and scroll using the SELECT knob to the last page. If you have a version later than 1.0x, you can use your USB connection.
In order to update your PodXt from version 1.0x to the latest version, you will need to download Line 6 monkey (as described above) as well as a MIDI to USB interface. We recommend the MIDI SPORT UNO from M-AUDIO. Install the drivers for your interface, then run LINE 6 MONKEY with your POD XT unit connected to your interface. Click on the CONNECT USING MIDI CABLES button, and make sure that you see the MIDI IN and MIDI OUTS set to your interface. Then go through the FLASH MEMORY installation as described above. After this is done, you will be able to update your PODxt series unit using USB."
Job done. Used the MIdi to USB cables to update Flash, Model packs appeared straight away. Now gone back to just USB, and everything hunky dory.
Thanks for the help, advice, and most of all patience to those contributors.
