License Manager disabled my Model Packs

I went on the Line 6 Website to check if there was any available new drivers for my Pod xt and installed the latest drivers and the License Manager.
The license manager removed all my Model Packs from my Pod!
After failing to program the device (reading the instructions to try and recover my Packs) using the license manager several times on different USB ports, I attempted to installed the add-ons but it would hang on the programming hardware dialog. I then try to deauthorize the device (after deauthorizing my PC). License Manager is hanging on the programming hardware dialog yet again. Its now pending for deauthorization! I click on the Remove button and it hangs.
Line 6 Monkey reports that all my drivers and associated software are up to date.
I am using Windows 7. I have disabled the firewall and virus protection (Norton Security Suite). I de installed the programs and drivers and re-installed them The specific error I get after timeout is:
Programming purchases on hardware failed. (Code 80007104)
Failed write to firmware.
Could you help me? I would like to recover my Model Packs. I payed good money to get them and they are no longer on my Pod.
Thanks in advance

Just for clarifiaction, are you running the newest driver installer first?
Do not plug-in your XT until prompted.
Also try different USB ports.
Yes I did install the drivers first. Then, I waited to be prompted before plugging the XT in.
I also tried different USB ports...
I have Windows 7 64 bits. Could it be the problem?
Something seems to block the connection with between the site and the Pod.
Thanks
Mario
Are you sure you've disabled Norton? I have a hate/hate relationship with that software. The reason I ask is that Norton in their infinite wisdom want to run your computer for you, they want to take it over. So even when you think you've switched it off there may be background tasks and all sorts potentially still running. Just make sure it really is off.
Yes, I did disabled the firewall and the anti-virus o Norton. I just tried it again few minutes ago and no my computer crashed!
I think I will redo the whole process with another computer.
Thanks
Are you using the newest version of Monkey 1.51?
Thanks Triryche. I did install all the newest programs from Line 6, uninstalled them and reinstalled them, 2 or 3 times.
As I said to Mr.Arkadin, I think I will try with another computer. There might be a program on my computer that interferes with
the Line 6 programs.
I just want to retrieve my model packs back onto my Pod.
This is not the computer I use to make music.
The one I use is not connected to the Net.
Thanks a lot for your time

i am having the exact same issues he is having almost word for word. i do not have norton anti virus though but besides that we have the same setup and i followed the instructions to un-authorize my pod and re do it and it just hangs in thesame spot with the same message everytime.........i bought the metal shop pack yesterday and have as of yet been able to use it. help me.
kain, just did same in your account, please try again
Thanks, Antonio.
The cue was removed and I could re- authorized the packs. However, it still froze on the "install". And after few minutes (5-6 minutes) I still got the message that Programming purchases on hardware failed...
I had also tried with another computer and it did not worked as well.
Your input will be appreciated
Mario
i also was able to re authorize my pod and it keeps getting the programming purchases failure. dunno whats going on but its making me sad ![]()
It's really annoying. When I bought the model packs and the Bass expansion pack, Line 6 loaded them directly into my Pod, through the USB port. It was to be used only with this device. Now, Line 6 changed the rules and has decided that it is no longer the device but the account that owns the add-ons. I was not informed of this change when I installed the License manager and that it would remove the packs from my Pod.
Maybe their intention was good but now I have to spend time trying to recover what I payed for instead of using it to make music.
Anyway, If you find something, please let me know!
Thanks,
Mario
dede, please launch again License Manager and check if your Addons are shown in your XT
please upload screenshots if needed
please try each single USB port on your PC, also a different USB cable and temporarily disable Firewall and antivirus
if this doesn't help, try using a different PC and/or internet connection

Got it! The culprit was Norton Internet Security Suite. I was able to recover my add-ons after having uninstalled Norton completely from my computer.I then performed the operation on Line 6 site without any virus protection. But it worked. Before, I was only disabling the firewall and the anti-virus autoprotect. It seems that it was not enough. It worked only after I removed the fricking program completely.
Thanks to everyone who helped.
However, I hope I will never ever have to reconnect my Pod onto the Line6 site again.
