I have problems authorizing POD Farm Platinum 2.51 on my TonePort UX8
Over the last 2 days I have uninstalled and re-installed about 25 times with no success.
Step 1: I install The latest driver and latest line 6 monkey.
Step 2: Authorize my computer and TonePort UX8
Step 3: Install POD Farm Platinum 2.51
Step 4: Deauthorize my device because POD Farm 2.51 does not display in device addons
Step 5: Re-Authorize my device and then It show on the addons section of my Tone Port.
Step 6: It prompts me to install the add ons to my TonePort.
Step 7: After Install to my tone port POD Farm Platinum 2.51 dissapears again.
When I open POD Farm Platinum 2.51 I get a message stating:
"POD Farm 2 has found a valid license on your TonePort UX8,
but you have to run the Line 6 License Manager to allow POD Farm 2
to be run on your computer with your TonePort UX8 (No Additional Purchase is nessecary)"
Please help....
the problem is your account... i can tell by your username date: (Feb 29, 2012)
you need to log into the license manager with the account you originally bought the UX8 with...
because the license and authorization will belong to the original owner that registered it...
if you bought it used, you might not be entitled to the license....
although version 1.x is free with all UX8's you might try that.
Hi Thanks for the quick reply.
I bought it used and it is supposed to be licensed for POD Farm 2.51
The first owner has 2 tone port ux8's so I would assume that there are 2 licences.
Does the previous owner need to do anything from his side? e.g. Deauthorize the device on his account, Transfer license?
Because there should still be a license right?
Funny thing is that POD Farm Platinum 1 works fine. And it's listed as factory devices.
Whereas POD Farm 2.51 does nos show on that list.
I have also read here on this forum that TonePort UX8 automatically applies for POD Farm Platinum 2.51
and the license is on the actuall device itself?
Once again thanks for your quick reply ![]()
Any suggestions?
i think the original date the device was registered by the original owner is what determines its free pod farm 2 eligibility.
the original ux8's only had a gearbox license and no pod farm 1 license. (bascially because pod farm didnt exist)
i would certainly make sure that the original owner removes his registration and make sure that its registered on your account.
line6 support can see alot more than i can... so they will likely clear up the details...
its possible that the UX8 is still authorized under the previous owners account... and that could be the whole issue.
other than trying to work with the original owner a little... not much you can do besides getting line6 support to clear it up on their end....
they'll know what your unit qualifies for and they can remove old authorizations etc, that will make the authorization to your account work.
you can wait for a response here... or give them a call... http://line6.com/company/contact/

I will give line 6 support a call and will post back here once I hae spoken to them.
I'll also speak to the previous owner to rule out all these facts.
+1 to TheRealZap.
If you purchased a Line 6 device with the POD Farm 1 plug in bundled with it (POD Studio, POD X3, UX8, DI) and enabled your POD Farm plug in with the Line 6 Monkey software BEFORE October 1st, 2009, you qualify for a discounted purchase price for POD Farm version 2 Line 6 license for 30 DAYS AFTER POD Farm 2 initial release. Therefore at this time the discounted POD Farm 2 upgrade offer has since passed.
