How can I check if my UX1 is dead?

My Toneport UX1 has stopped passing almost all audio through. Is there any way to reset it or do I need to replace it?
My setup:
iMac - 2Ghz Intel Core Duo - 2Gb Ram, 300 Gb HD (50Gb free)
Mac OSX 10.6.8
Audio Out and In set to Toneport UX1 in Sound preferences - Volume set to 50%
Mac "sees" a Toneport UX1 on whichever USB Bus I plug it into.
All software reported as up to date by Monkey. Both Drivers and USB Firmware recently updated.
Toneport Plugged in shows green power light and can be "seen" by Line6 for software updates refreshes etc.
Pair of M-Audio speakers worn direct when plugged in to the Mac, but via Toneport I only get an initial loud 'click' when I plug it all together or reboot the Mac. Same with Headphones.
Then - nothing either from iTunes or PodFarm 2.5 etc.
Have I missed something or is time for the bin?
Try to use the UX as your main sound card at all aplications, (movies ,music etc.) and please let as know.If it is working like this, then is definetly a problem with the sofware (podfarm etc.) or with the cable of the guitar, the guitar ,etc.Since the UX is recognised by the monkey, means it is still alive, though. If after this check it is still with no sound , then I run out of ideas.
BTW, try to reinstal all the drivers of the UX at your computer.
Thanks Arislaf
No applications puts sound out through the Toneport. Tried iTunes, spotify etc and no result.
I am confused as there seems to be nothing wrong with the setup and Line 6, Monkey and my Mac all "see" the device. The device shows a green light, the speakers work well and yet I get no sound output.
Not sure how to check if the UX1 has failed internally or if it is another one of Line 6's software upgrades for Mac that is causing the problem (I had to wait months after buying the UX1 for the Line 6 software to catch up with Apple's operating system). Am reluctant to buy another device but I have a lot of kit sitting here that is unusable.
Have tried it on my MacBook Pro running current OSX but still no joy.
Try it on another computer.
Also make sure you are using the latest drivers?
Have tried it with my MacBook Pro which has most recent Mac Operating system and Line 6 software. Same result - no sound.
Just to be clear, are you connecting you headphones and/or monitors directly to your UX?
Is thre a pc you can try it on?
And try different USB cables and all USB ports.
And give this a read just eliminate another possibilty.
OSX Authorization issues:
try using the following instructions:
close out of all Line 6 software first. Then, open a Finder window and select your [User Account] on the left (with the "home" icon) and look for the Library/Application Support and see if there's a Line 6 folder in there.
Highlight the Line 6 folder and do a "Control + Click" on it; then choose "Get Info" in the submenu that pops open. Go to the bottom of the window and check the "Sharing & Permissions" box. If the Priviledge is set to "Read Only" on your Mac, this is the culprit. Change it to "Read & Write".
Then, re-launch License Manager and de-authorize your Mac. Re-Authorize it again.
After reading through the thread, it was never clarified whether or not the UX1 was assigned as the system's sound card.
For tutorials on setting up your Line 6 hardware as your computer's external sound card, reference the links below:

After you assign the UX1 as the system sound card, check all connected cables to ensure they are connected properly and try again to output audio using a program like iTunes.
Thanks for the Input Don
The UX1 is assigned as the system's sound card.
The only sound the UX1 will now pass from the Mac to the monitors is the 'thump' as I start up the Mac. Proves that sound is able to get through, but nothing else is processed. If I switch back to the Mac's internal speakers, then sounds are played, but that is of no use to the UX!.
This system has been set up in the same place, in the same way for some time, and has worked well until a few months ago. Now I need to know whether to throw away the UX1 and find another solution, or find out how to start it all working again
Thanks
Hi
Thanks for the ideas.
The monitors are connected directly to the rear of the UX and headphones go into the headphone socket on the front.
The only PC I have is under emulation on my Macs and that will add another layer of confusion to the problem. I don't think that will be helpful at the moment.
I have replaced all cables and tried every USB port on my Mac. Each time, the Mac sees the UX1 when checked in "About this Mac".
The priveleges in Library/Support are set for Read and Write. Can De - Authorize and Authorize but no change.
This is a setup that used to work. All the hardware works without the UX1 i.e. The monitors will handle any sound source direct from the Mac, The Mac is happy to deal with sound out etc. Hence my question - Is there any way to reset or check if my UX1 is dead>
I would suggest trying to set the UX1 up on another computer system, this will help to see whether or not the problem is based with your UX1 or your computer itself. Follow the instructions below to setup the UX1 on another computer system to test and see if you can receive audio playback from the outputs of the UX1:
Download and install the latest Line 6 drivers for your operating system:
Windows Drivers 4.2.5.1:
http://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=4399
MAC Drivers : 7.1.3
http://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=4321
Once the drivers are installed you will need to install the Line 6 Monkey application from the links below:
Windows Line 6 Monkey 1.51:
http://line6.com/getrelease?rid=4618
MAC Line 6 Monkey 1.51:
http://line6.com/getrelease?rid=4619
Once Line 6 Monkey is installed, remove any additional unnecessary USB and firmware devices from your computer when troubleshooting this issue. Make sure to connect it directly to a USB port and not a USB hub, extension, or keyboard of any kind, preferably connect it to a USB port on the rear of computer. Try using additional USB cables and every USB port available until you are able to launch Line 6 Monkey and detect the device.
After Launching Line 6 Monkey apply any updates that are available until you have a green check next to each component.
After finishing this, use the instructions I provided to you previously to assign the UX1 as the system's sound card. Test to see if you can receive input and output of audio. If the UX1 works properly on the second system, that indicates the trouble is with your computer. If the UX1 does not work on the second system it indicates the problem is potentially with the UX1 hardware itself.
