variax detection by workbench

I can't have my variax 700 detected by USB interface or even through X3 live. Problems I could detect was lack of MIDI out with MS wavetable, then  searched over the internet, tried many things with no success to fix it and ended up installing MIDI Yoke which made MIDI ports show up again, but even so work bench can't see my guitar.

Any suggestion??

Thanks.

    Hi,

This sounds like a connection issue. Have you tried different USB ports and cables? Are you sure the drivers are installed for the X3? Is the X3 visible in Monkey?

    Thanks,

    David

    Hi,

Does the Variax 700 work when not connected to the computer? It sounds like you could have a configuration problem in Windows. Can you try the X3 and 700 with another computer?

    Thanks,

    David

    Re: variax detection by workbench

Just bought a Variax Workbench USB adapter hoping to edit and update the firmware on my Variax Acoustic 700. I have connected the interface to my computer (2011 MacBook Pro). Line 6 Monkey detects and updates the USB interface, Workbench etc. without a problem.

Workbench launches and after I tell it that it is connected to the USB interface it lists it as an attached device BUT never detects the guitar. I have tried it in Windows 7 and Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion but Workbench still doesn't find the guitar.

The USB interface lights up green on the computer side but flashes red on the guitar side. The Variax lead is plugged in securely and the guitar is getting power from the XPS box and the LED on the control panel is on.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks, Ian.
