Line6 XD-V75TR for electric guitar

Good morning, I want to buy a wireless system for guitar and I'vebeen looking at the Line6 XD-V75TR. The website does not say thatserve Line6 guitar. But in my favourite store say it runs ok for a electric guitar (see link):

If I buy it work well? I want it for electric guitar, usehigh output active pickups (EMG 81/85).

    Have you looked at Line 6's Relay G 90 ?

    It's only slightly (about 30%) more expensive, but has many wonderful things built-in, ...especially for cable-free guitars.

     

    To me, the way it can ruggedly get rid of boxes and adapters by neatly fitting into the top of an amplifier cabinet without a blank panel is alone more than worth the small extra cost. Then there are also the other guitar-cable and tonal features.

     

    XD-V belt-pack transmitters DO work well with pick-ups (via the correct jack plug to TA-4F adapter cable, for example https://www.globalfulfillment.net/gfsnet/(S(2zohyc55c3qpnf2h3ox2tb55))/line6/10Expand.aspx?ProductCode=97-000-0001) and can also be rack-mounted into the top of a guitar amp.

     

    This is would be a more versatile solution if you wish to use the same receiver for other mics and/or instruments. It is a little cheaper and more flexible, but may have the "cost" of carrying extra "bits and pieces".

     

    I have not heard any other wireless systems that are as good as either of these for delivering the exact sound of the instrument to the audio system.

      Many thanks RonMarton, I see several options...

      One is buy a Relay G50, but I must to install into a rack system.

      G90 is more expensive and I dont need as much covery.

      I have various minixlr cables because have a wireless system that uses.

      My english is poor but I understant that with the XD-V75 is so similar (except minixlr cable) to G50.

       

      Anyone has tried the XD-V75 with an electric guitar? Sounds good with distortion?

        Hello again, from the other side of the World...

         

        Please be sure that your English is better than some who were born in English-speaking countries!

         

        The best help I can offer is to explain that I am still running eight TBP12 belt-pack transmitters with the older V70 series. The adapter cables (to TA-4F) that I carry are as follows:

         

        1. Four straight guitar plugs;
        2. Four right-angle guitar plugs and
        3. Eight XLF mic sockets.

         

        Being older, mine do not have the benefit of the V75's amazing "cable model" feature that Don Boomer mentions, but I can tell you that they have always worked wonderfully well with many, many different instruments, microphones and other sources, such as A/V from computers.

         

        In my case, the belt-packs replace the 100 metre reel of Canare star-quad balanced audio cable that I was carrying. They have also been connected exactly like a D.I. box, ...after a set of guitarists' effects pedals, which provided distortion, amongst other things.

         

        When you ask "Sounds good with distortion?", they do (...VERY good) if it is created by such an effects pedal or amplifier, but they will not give "over drive" effects by themselves. I would say that even trying this is a bad idea.

         

        Most of the session musicians arrive saying that they have many reasons to HATE wireless and so ask me to use a cable, ...especially bass and keyboard players.

         

        They leave saying things like "...I've never heard my instrument sound so good, ...it's so clear and natural, ...the belt pack doesn't change the sound like others do..."

         

        Especially bass and keyboard players!

          They can if you update your firmware to V2.0. It's a free upgrade but it does require using a V75 receiver as only it has a USB connection

            Much appreciated, Mr B...

             

            I'm very tempted to collect a sack of dimes big enough to buy a third Gator-Cased rack of four receivers, which would (of course) be 75's.

             

            What a blast it would be to have the ease of future USB upgradeability, extra modeling features and also instantly enable all of my V-70 gear to operate the additional (WiFi-friendlier) RF 2 channels!

             

            Three quick questions:

             

            1. Are you acually Superman?
            2. If so, does anyone at Line 6 have access to Kryptonite?
            3. If not, how in the blue blazes do you not only maintain the infinite patience and depth of knowledge that characterise your supportive responses, but also have the energy to cope with this avalanche of worldwide correspondence?

    The V75 will work great.  There is now included a "cable model" in the transmitter as there are no cable models in the receivers as there are in the Relay series.  Audio and RF performance are identical otherwise.

      That is extremely COOL !

       

      I was "blowing a ROD" over the fact that the G50 are becoming more vaporware all the time.  My backorder slipped from 5/22 to "end of July or later."  No way could I handle this delay!

       

      Well, I have a XD-V70 handheld system already.  I have  a XD-V75 headset system on order.  Since I never plan on using the handheld and the headset at the same time, I thought, "Why not skip the backorder delay altogether and purchase a TBP12 instead?"  In stock, ready to go.

       

      Knowing that the TBP12 will provide the cable modeling is, yes, absolutely kewl.

       

      Line 6 does it again.  Thanks, Superman!

        ...And as if the "Guitar Cable" model isn't "kewl" enough,

         

        Having used an XD-V75 to upgrade my twelve V70 beltpacks a while back, I've only now had cause to use the "Woodwind" and "Brass" "filter" models that also arrived in the v.2 firmware.

         

        My aging back was already enjoying the freedom from heavy multicore granted by Line 6's transparent, cable-replacing transmission of my top quality instrument mics, ...to which they've now added freedom from a lot of eq and/or filter fiddling !

         

        (I'm very relieved that there's still no sign of Kryptonite...)
