Hey gang. I got my HD150 cab a few weeks ago and got my Short Board mark II today and have been trying to do the firmware upgrade but i keep getting this error Code 80001019 unrecoginized file type. Any one know what the trick here is?? all of this gear is less than a month old. Also i have registerd all of it as well.
My Head currntly has 1.04 firmware and i'm trying to update to 2
Oh and to make things more fun icant use the edit program untill i get this fixed...grrrr Hope i dident just blow 200 bucks on the peddle for nothing. I had the old short board and bought this one just for the usb connection
Not sure abouthet error code. Do you have Spider Monkey downloaded and installed? Does it recognize the Shortboard (and amp)? If not there are a few things you can try. Try different USB ports - unplug all other USB devices except keyboard and mouse. Disable your antivirus and firewall software.
I never could get Monkey to recognize the devices wiht my WIndows Vista machine, had to use an old laptop running XP. Some people have also had problems with Wndows 7, too.
Guess i should have put this in here too. heh I'm useing a Macbook Air running lion. No other USB devices connected. Brand new USB2 cable that i bought when i bought the peddle. IT has no problem seeing both the board and the Head. But gives me that error every time i try and upgrade. Worst part is i have no idea if it's the file on the amp or what it's downloading. Any one know somewhere i can jsut down load the file and put it in the folder it looks at?? Any help is appretiated here since i'm feeling like i blew 200 bucks on the new peddle for nothing.
Nothing on this??? really??? come on. Someone at line 6 must know what that error is. You wrote the software so i assume you wrote the error codes.
Not sure why Line 6 has not responded. Why can't you use Spider Edit? The firmware update should not need to be done to use it.
When are you getting this error message - when you are running Monkey? Does Monkey recognize the FBV and amp? (not your computer, but Monkey)
Yep monkey sees them both fine. It's monkey that gives me the error when i try to upgrade firmware. And when i try to run edit it tells me 2.0 firmware is required.
Hello. We have an FAQ on the process at http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2049, and a video that shows what you'd expect to see throughout the process: [Video Tutorial] How to Update the Flash Memory on a Spider IV Amplifier Using an FBV Shortboard MkII Pedal
With Monkey throwing that error, you should try downloading the update seperately here: http://line6.com/software/. You can then use the 'update from file' button in Monkey.
If the separate download fails, you may have a configuration issue with your ISP, network, computer, or browser.
If it fails during the install, then that error message could be communication with the amp. Try a different USB port, and disconnect any hubs, HDDs and anything USB (excluding mouse and keyboard).
Another tip: never use the front USB ports for USB audio or midi devices... front USB ports are usually via a built in hub, and hubs are usually bad news for realtime data like audio or MIDI.
Yep that did it. So for some reason the Monkey app for Mac has an issue downloading it. But i have no issues downloading it seperate. So it's not a firewall or file type error on my machine. I think you guys might have a bug with your software.
Thanks for the help!!
