Sound drop issue

I live in the UK and I think I have the issue described in this thread http://line6.com/support/message/139319

after 5 to 30 minutes use using my X3 Live as a playback/record device on my windows 7 64 bit pc via USB, the sound drops and I cant usually get it back without restarting the computer. Sometimes the sound will come back if I turn it off and on. After this drop happens I also notice that Monkey stops being able to communicate with the device.

My question is, how do I go about getting this properly diagnosed and repaired? I cant see any way of creating a support ticket.

I registered the device when I bought it and I have also created a support profile.

I'd be lying if I said I have ever used this thing without some issue cropping up. it stifles your creativity when all your focusing on is getting the thing to work. It's just not what you expect from a £400 piece of kit.

I update the drivers and firmware whenever possible, but this problem has always plagued it.

Thanks

    Re: Sound drop issue

You need to take it in to an authorized Line 6 service centre:

    http://line6.com/service_centers/

An audio dropout problem potentially exists with older X3 Live units - those with serial numbers less than 21X3LxS59xxxxx..

If your unit's serial number is less than that it qualifies for a free hardware fix that resolves the drop out issue. Take your X3L to the nearest service centre for a free repair under lifetime warranty. Tell the service centre to consult Line 6 Technical Bulletin #52 - this will authorize them to perform the reapir under warranty. I suggest you call them first - they may need to order a part.

If your serial number is higher than the one above then the problem is something else. Please let us know.

Usually you cover the postage one way and Line6 the other.

        The UK support centre is:

        Line 6 - International

        4 Sopwith Way

        Drayton Fields Industrial Estate

        Daventry, Northamptonshire

        United Kingdom, NN118PB

        Telefon: +44 (0) 1327 302 700

        Fax: +44 (0) 1327 302 702

They are very helpful (well always have been for me!)

        Good Luck!

        Regards

        John

Yes - that serial number qualifies for the free fix, although as johnpicton says you may be repsonsible for shipping costs.

Also, as a security precaution I suggest you edit your earlier post and delete your serial number.
