m13 novice - help !

This is really basic stuff, I must be having a pretty dumb day!! - just purchased a M13 stompbox modeller, but cannot download Line 6 Monkey - the M13 is not in the list of applicable units for Monkey - what am I doing wrong!!

    The M13 isn't supported by Monkey. You may or may not need to update the M13's firmware. The latest version is 2.04, and you can see what version you're running by going into setup mode (hold the looper controls button for a few seconds). The firmware version you're running will show up in the upper left hand corner of the LCD for the FX1 column.

      Thanks Phil_m, have checked, my version definately needs updating !! Maybe you can help with something else - a lot of the discussions mention using a midi floot controller for the  m13 - is this the best way to use the m13, as I thought the whole point of the m13 is that it is a "stompbox" based system?

        Some people use the M13 with an existing rig with other MIDI devices incorporated into it, so controlling it by MIDI is the way to go in those case a lot of times. You also can access any of the 48 scenes immediately through MIDI. Otherwise, you have to bend down to access the extra folders for the additional scenes beyond the 12 in the first folder.
