Using the looper on the HD-500 in a live setting

I tried to use the looper on the HD-500 live today and I noticed it had a slight pause after the loop which made it unusable in a song that had precise timing. I tried numerous times to record the loop but no matter how fast I switched from recording to play there was that slight pause. Has anyone experienced the same thing with their unit and if sox, how did you fix it?
You already should be looping your playing while listening to a metronome or rhythm before you start. Then start to record the loop without stopping yourself playing, neither from the beginning, nor at the end. Furthermore try to use half speed option to be able to loop a long part instead if a short one to reduce time errors.
Of course it is also a matter of practise for your feet.
No, my looper comes in sharp and crisp. Try picking another beat in the bar to target as your on/off point. That can sometimes help.
If there is genuinely some kind of break before the switch actuates then you could try a global settings reset and see if that clears the error (long shot! Details here --> http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2222)

You need to be playing the loop section repeatedlyas you punch in and out of record mode at the correct points and then there should be no gap. It takes practice though. However if you are already doing this and still have an issue, try Jim's suggestion to reset the POD's global settings.

+1 to all,
There is no pause in the looper on the HD500 but it can be a little tricky to get used to. Make sure you are playing to a metronone, solid drummer or drum loop. You have to be pretty spot on to yeild a desirable result. If you still run into a problem try clearing the global prests.
Thanks,
David
