Best way to amplify HD500 without affecting sound?

So I recently bought the HD500 and an slowly getting used to its huge number of features. Have a supposedly pretty simple question...how do I best amplify the HD500? By modelling the amps and effects in the pod itself I don't want the amp to change this. I curently have a VOX Valvetronix digital modeling amp which by design will apply an additional amp and effects to the sound. When using this amp, it changes the HD500 preset sound, no matter how neutral I try to put the amp settings on.

So is it as simple as getting a non digital modeling amp and putting all settings on neutral. If so, would a small tube amp make much difference to a non tube amp.

Or could I buy a normal hifi style amp and set of speakers.

Or should I just run through the computer?

Advice / experience appreciated......
