POD HD500 as midi clock slave

Greetings,
I am using the POD HD 500 in my church's band. Now that I have it and have played with it a bit, I'm looking for a way to control the tempo on it via midi with a drum machine or some hardware of the sort, (NOT SOFTWARE). I am relatively new to midi. Is it possible to control the tempo on the HD 500 with midi and, if so, how would I go about doing that? Do you have any hardware recommendations to operate as midi clocks (drum machines, etc.)? I've been checking out the Kaossilator Pro by Korg, but, as I said, I'm new to this. We are primarily looking to control the tempo of delay effects (think The Edge) and the tempo of the looper. I just need a recommendation on a piece of hardware to serve as a master clock that is compatible with the HD500.
Thanks!

According to Appendix B of the HD500 Advanced Guide, MIDI Continuous Controller 064 will control tap tempo of the HD500: http://line6.com/data/6/0a06434dfb244f7b7f489af64/application/pdf/POD%20HD500%20Advanced%20Guide%20v2.0%20-%20English%20(%20Rev%20A%20).pdf. The HD500 delay model you're using has to be set to a note value instead of a millisecond value, then it will lock onto the tap tempo.
