Cant flash to 2.02 - Unrecognized file type

So after a struggle, I finally got Monkey 1.53 installed. That was all so I can finally flash to 2.02 on my HD500.. except I cant. Everytime I try and update from 1.43 to 2.02 I get the attached error.
Im really getting frustrated and hope you guys can help. Ive also tried downloading the 2.02 file to use the update from file option in the line6 software, except line6 doesnt seem to have it available to download without instantly trying to install it (on my computer) which isnt helpful.
Any advice would be appreciated.
hola como yo tambien tengo el mismo problema y ya no como hacer para actualizar el firmware por favor alguna respuesta desde ya gracias
por favor alguien que responda
Can someone offer any insight or ideas?
Hi there,
Something could be corrupting the file when you try to download it through Monkey. Try turning off any anti virus programs or pop up blockers. Any time you see and unrecognized file type error like that it means the file has most likely been corrupted. It's finding out why that's happening that presents the challenge.
If you continue to have problems you may want to maybe try downloading the file on another computer and seeing if you can port it over via flash drive to update from file? Just a thought.

I treid from another computer and am getting the same error... any other ideas?
Have you tried downloading the file directly from the Downloads section? If you can get a good copy that way, you can choose 'Update from File' in Monkey.
Like Rick suggested, you might be able to connect your POD to a different computer entirely and perform the update from there instead.
I suspect that there is something possibly in the way your current computer is configured, or it may possibly have been subject to some kind of malware which is causing Monkey not to want to play ball with the update.
I assume you are running Windows. What version? What is your outline computer spec (CPU, RAM Graphics adapter etc...)? If you run your computer in any way that you may be over-clocking it you may encounter problems such as you are seeing, and occasionally a faulty memory module may cause weird behaviour with certain programs, but those kinds of things tend to occur rarely and if you run the system at the manufacturer recommended speed you can usually rule out those kinds of p. Graphics adapter and on-board audio adapter drivers can cause problems. In respect of graphics adapter drivers particularly, I would always recommend using the latest WHQL tested version rather than the super tweaked but non WHQL manufacturer version, purely because the tested version is guaranteed reliable.
