Line 6 dives into the PA reinforcement arena. Any thoughts on this?

I just revued the new PA gear Line 6 has just announced. I had no idea the company was thinking of doing anything like this. I have mixed feelings about it right now. I hope someday I can test out this new gear and especially the new 16-channel console that seems to be designed to work with (or in conjunction with) the new iPad 2.0.
I presume that this had been brewing for quite a long time to go from an idea to a physical reality. I once again say...I'm not sure how I feel about this, but I do say that it had to have been quite a large number of man-hours in designing, developing, and then producing these pieces of gear. Could this brain power, money and production of a totally new part of the music business have been used more wosely, or is this a smart move by the company? Only time will tell, but I thought I'd start a discussion to read what others think about this new venture by Line 6?
Take care,
Neal
Looks nice and leading edge , but a little over the top on pricing. Must be
for the rich and famous. Not starving musicians.
Just my opinio

Not sure if you are aware of the prices, but if you only need (1) pair of tops, don't need the optional subs because the tops produce enough low Q for your situation, and do not want to spend additonal money for one or more top cabs to use as monitors - then the price should be about under under $6,000.00US WITH an optional iPAD 2.0 to gain the wireless control.
Yes - this IS a lots of money for a relatively SMALL system, BUT you can always add as your band or venues require...YOU CAN get financing even with lousy credit like I have from Sweetwater and make (3) payments, or possibly zZounds, or American Musical Supply which offer 4 & 5 payment plans respectively. I do not know what the payment TOTAL PRICE CAP might be. Please do not hold me liable if the CAP is lower than the total price? Fair enough?? Cool...moving on to last point...
If you compare a POWERED system with a CONVENTIONAL 16/4/2 mixing console WITHOUT any recording functions, or any of the built in signal processing gear (which is quite a lot if I read the specs correctly), you'll find that a powered Mackie or other high quality system costs as much as this does without any of the features that make this system UNIQUE for certain, but if it does all stated - TRULY AMAZING for those not familiar with running a PA system or want to have REAL CONTROL while doing the PA from the stage because the price of a soundman is too expensive per gig. Which is typically $100.00 for a good solid PA system excellent signal processing gear and multiple FX units, two independent mixes for stage monitors per four hour gig.
These are my thoughts not knowing exactly this system can or can't do and not having touched or heard how it sounds in a real world situation.
Take care,

Saw and played with this system at NAMM and it is fantastic! I love everything about it! Having never seen it before, it only took me about 10 minutes and I was able to control the entire setup from the new sound board. The intelligence int he speaker recognition by the board is very very nice. Also, the intelligence int he speakers themselves concerning position (vertical, horizontal, on the ground, on a stand) just blew my mind. And the sound itself was AWESOME!
I am totally getting one of these soon....
Okay - glad to have someone here who has tried the gear. Now, how do you plan to pay for a full system?
Also - how would you use the Mixer if you are not connected to the Line 6 PA speakers?
I've found a few designs that I think might be potential problems, but since I'll never get to try one until I have enough money to buy one - I'll have to wait to find out whenever these units actually make it into retailer online stores.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
