Alternate Tunings

Can anyone please tell me, can I put a tuning of my own in to the Model Bank 1, with the selector switch set in position 1. Say I wanted to put in that position a 12 string Acoustic can I use the Virtual Capo to put it in a Tuning of G. Is this possible, I would be very grateful for any advice.

You can put any tuning anywhere, in any slot, in any bank.

Thanks Merlin, its just im trying to put acoustic models into the guitar  useing the workbench and it doesn't seem to working, its OK with the electric models. Every thing is upto date. I can put the virtual capo on by just using the guitar controls, its strange.

        Hi Simbo,

What you said here is a known issue of the new flash memory release. Please, have a look at this http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2663. You can not set alternate tunnings with the acoustic models for the moment, until Line6 fixes the issue. The only workaround is to use the guitar's alterante tunning knob.

        Best Regards,

        Daf

The new acoustic models will not accept alternate tunings from Workbench.  This problem was reported on the day the new 1.81 update came out.

If you have a POD HD unit, you can "Force Tune" the acoustic guitar to any tuning you want per patch from the POD HD unit.

Instead of me typing it all out, there is an advanced guide for the POD HD500 new version 2.02 posted with all the new features listed under the download, manual section of ths website.  You'll find the answer there in a step by step format.

It is very simple to set up using the unit directly or simpler using HD500 Edit.  It's under the Variax Conrtrol section of Edit.  You'll see on the right side and box that shows what Variax model guitar you are using when the guitar is hooked up, then you have the option in a drop down menu to "Don't Force" (the default setting) or "Force Tuning" which allows you to control the tuning of your JTV connected via VDI cable from the HD500.

            Take care,

            Neal
