My POD farm won't work through Ableton Live WHY ?

So I have bought a UX2 and have installed pod farm and Ableton Live on my computor. POD farm is recognised by Ableton as a plug-in, but when I drop it in to my midi track and the POD farm screen comes up, no sound is going throught the input nor output when I play my guitare.
However, if I start up POD farm alone on my computor, it works beautifuly !
WHY DOESN'T MY POD FARM WORK THROUGH ABLETON ?
By the way, yesterday it worked perfectly...
couple of issues possibly...
for one... pod farm won't work on midi tracks no matter how hard you try... it's for audio tracks...
for midi tracks you need VSTi (instrument) plugins.....
also if your UX2 is redface and not blackface... you may not have a license for the plugin.... unlikely this is the issue since it worked yesterday...
Thanks again for helping me out.
Well I tried dropping it into my audio track and still nothing happens... My UX2 is blackfaced. And there are green ticks everywhere on line6 monkey...
do you have the line6 ASIO driver selected in ableton?
are your speakers plugged into the UX2?
Yes my speakers are plugged in, it works fine when I run POD farm alone.
As for the Line 6 ASIO, I'm not sure I understand what you mean. If you are talking about the Plug-in Sources, than yes I have selected the line 6 file in the VST POD farm folder.
if you go to the preferences in ableton... select audio... the line6 ASIO driver should be a choice on the pulldown menu assuming the drivers are installed correctly.
You typically would use the plug-in on a dry track after you record.
I typically record 2 stereo tracks simaltaneously, one dry and one wet. (sends 1-2 on one track and sens 3-4 on the other).
The wet is what I hear from the POD Farm Standalone.
Then I go back and add the plug-in to the dry track.
I haven't really understood everything you said... hahaha
However, I can't even record since no sound is coming through, none of the metters nor real nor virtual are moving when I play. (except when I open POD farm alone)
if you want to record directly the tone you hear... launch pod farm, setup your tone... tell your track in ableton to record inputs 3/4 (i think)
then it should record....
typically with the plugin...
you would record the dry track....
and process it later....
this allows you to change amps/effects etc later without re-performing.
(cross post - it took me 20 minutes to write that??!!! LOL)
+1 to Zap
Use the POD Farm Standalone to record.
Select UX2 ASIO in Ableton as your recording device.
When you set up tracks to record Sends 1 thru 4 should be available to record.
1&2 are dry (unprocessed guitar)
3&4 are wet (what you hear from the standalone)
(or vise versa, I forget which 2 are wet and which are dry)
Ok well... I have selected UX2 ASIO in ableton, selected all possible inputs and outputs in preferences->audio->input config / output config. and Still nothing...
(considering the fact that my UX2 was in the pulldown menu, it must be correctly installed)
Now even if I use the POD farm standalone, and chose which ever input config and output config on Ableton, Ableton isn't recording any sound !!!
+1 to both TheRealZap and Triryche.
I would suggest to get the UX2 to record dry audio first before attempting to include plugins or POD Farm. Refer to Ableton Manual if you are having trouble recording audio in the program. Ableton has a very helpful support section as well on their website at the link below:
