Spider IV 30 problem

I was playing with my ipod plugged in and my amp stopped picking up my guitar but it still played my ipod. None of the lights will come on but my fbv pedal lights still come on and can change presets there just isnt any sound when my guitar is plugged in. Any suggestions?
If unplugging the ipod and turning off and on again the amp doesn't work, try a factory reset - hold the 'A' button in while turning on the power and hold for 5-8 seconds.
Thanks but I tried that even before you replied but it didnt work. I'll try again and see what happens.
I guess the next step is to try starting the amp in Test Mode - Press and hold the tap button while turning on the amp. This allows your input to bypass the DSP preamp of your Spider (note that volume and tone will only be controlled by your guitar controls. If you still get no sound, then it may be the input jack itself, if you get sound, then it could be the DSP.
Of course, I assume you have checked your guitar cable, guitar (battery if its active), etc. One day I was playing my amp and 'all of a sudden' (after changing tones) I had no sound, was checking everything until I realized I had stepped on the volume pedal on my FBV all the way heel-down! ![]()
Thanks so much for the advice! This is the secon Spider IV 30 that iv'e had. My first almost started an electrical fire. If this one is toast i
think im going to get a different amp. I love the amp and all the settings but i dont want to test my luck by getting a third.
I just had an amp with the same problem and it was one of the legs broken on the 3300µf electrolytic capacitor on the PSU board.
