Spider IV 75 at a gig?

Hello, I have my first gig coming very soon and I need to know how its connected to a PA? Its a small club and the sound guy does the hooking up and and messes with the amp volume only.

you have a few options.. I use the same amp.

you can run a line out of the back of the amp to the mixing board / or snake.

this way you will need to have your guitar put in the monitor to hear it, which sucks.

or do like me and mic the amp

Why would you connect to a PA?

Having asked the above Your options are to 1-connect the line out to the line in on the board. You will lose the ability to use the amp as a monitor.

2-Mike the amp. most people do this 3- Use a direct box this will split your guitar signal you can send  a signal to the PA and also to your amp.

           good luck have fun

Like has already been said - mic-ing the amp is the typical procedure.  Using the headphone/DI ouput of the amp mutes the speaker, so you can no longer hear your guitar through it.

A DI box/splitter would feed an unprocessed signal to the PA, doubt that is what you want.

Hopefully in future models Line 6 will offer a DI output and still have the speaker on.
