Spider IV 75 compatibility with the old FBV Shortboard

Hey Line 6

I just want to know, if the Line 6 Spider IV 75 is compatible with the Line 6 FBV Shortboard? Not the new MKII model, but the elder version. Let's call it MKI (I don't know if that is the official name for it, or if there is some other name). Another question is, besides the compatibilty, what are the differences between the two models?

I hope you understand my question.

Hi mate,
Unfortunately, only the mkii is compatible with the spider iv. To be honest i dont know the difference between them but the mkii is specific to the features of the spider iv.

  i had the same question,
  so there is no way i can use a 2 year old short board with the spieder IV 75
  
  any software up date ?

you CAN use the older shortboard...
the main difference is the usb port... you can't ugrade your amp.... or edit your tones on the computer...
other than that i think the function2 button is missing.....
but you can use the old shortboard no problem.
