M9 High Pitch Noise and Buzzing

Greetings compadres,
I've been using my M9 in my effects chain through my Fender Deville for live performances and it's worked great...but I tried patching it in for some late night recording and was shocked by a horrible high pitch noise and this pulsating buzzing sound.
The chain is guitar -> M9 -> M-Audio Fast Track Pro -> Guitar Rig (w/just a plain amp) -> Ableton Live.
Is anyone else having this problem?
Any known fixes?
Do you get any noise if you plug your guitar directly into the M-Audio interface? Do you have the input set to "instrument"? I suspect the issue has more to do with the interface than with the M9, really.
When I plug in direct to the computer, no noise, no buzzing.
I think it may be some interference or the flux capacitor needs some mojo...or something.
You might want to try using a balanced cable between the M9 and the interface.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
