I thought the addition of the Blackstar Series One 200 WITH ISF CONTROL was a great idea too.
Wouldn't that be a model of a modeling amp, essentially?
I mean that's what the ISF control does. It changes the character of the amp from something more Marshall or British-like to something more Mesa or American-like.- Report Abuse

Nah, it would be a model of an amp clone maybe, since blackstar's are true tube amps based on the marshall design... But then again you could say that a lot of the high gain amps are marshall clones in some way or another. But the point of this is WE THE PEOPLE want, nay, NEED some more high gain amp models. Heck, not even that many; 6505+, Mesa Mk IV & IIC+, Soldano Slo, JCM900 & 2000; BAM! You've got 90% of the bases covered! The others people listed could be argued as luxury, but these are ESSENTIAL High gain amps! How could they not have made it into the box from the start I don't understand.

Why not model the dt50 - that way you can take advantage of all the control featured too within the pod unit

It would be cool to have an ENGL Savage and/or Powerball II amp model. I know we have the FBALL (Fireball model) but I think the Savage is used more for melodic and power metal, and melodic death metal. It has a ton of distortion yet very clean distortion; the notes are extremely distinguishable where as many high gain amps can sound muddy.
As many have stated, the 5150 would be awesome to have as well.

I'd love to see a Marshall Bluesbreaker or 1974x combo.

make the plexis fatter, like the oness on the spidervalve, but more depth.Give me a Carvin Legacy model, some Laney's, Blackstar, A marshall JMP, a late one. and increase the quality of the amps, they are good but certain models like the 1959 plexi, ok I used this on the spidervalve when I used the spidervalve, a lot for my distorted feedbacking Hendrix sounds, For me the JTM45 had the bottom end, but didnt have the gain of the the JTM100 1959 Plexi on the SV, in the JTM 100 in the POD HD, you got the classic marshall gain, but no bottom end, or a least a believable bottom end, if they can stop the DSP over then thatd be just great, other than that its a fantastic unit

The only thing really lacking for me is a high-gain Marshall; JCM900, 2000, etc. Any one of those for some super-saturated '80s metal Marshall tones.
Would also love the Mesa Mark V, but a few of the other high-gain amps can get pretty close. Would really love to see an EQ model of the graphic EQ on a Mark V, though!

I've been kind of able to replicate those Marshall 80's metal tones (more specifically Judas Priest and Iron Maiden) like this:
Judas Priest:
Brit J-800, Drive at 80%, Master vol at 30%, high mids and low highs on the amp EQ, through the 4x12 T-75 cab with 121 Ribbon, and on the cab DEPs I have Res at 75% and Thump at 30%. I use just that for the older Priest rhythm tones, then I kick in an Overdrive at 95% Drive and 20% Output for solos or for "later" Priest.
Iron Maiden:
Brit P-75 Nrm, Drive at 100%, Master at 100%, high bass and low highs on the amp EQ, through the 4x12 Blackback cab with 409 Dynamic, and I just have Res at 60%. Before the amp there's a Screamer with 70% Tone, 32% Treble, 75% Drive, 100% Output. Post-amp I have a Tube Comp at 80% Thresh and 2% Level (just to very lightly compress the tone) and for the "chorusy" Somewhere In Time songs, right after the Tube Comp I have a Dimension with SW1 On and everything else off, and Mix is at 25%. Kick in a louder Tube Comp, higher mix Dimension, and Stereo Delay for some sweet solos.
Both of those tones also have a post-amp Studio EQ cutting -8 dB at 500 Hz (removes mud) and -1 dB at 3000 Hz (to give room for vocals intelligibility).
But yeah, it would be amazing to just load up a JCM2000 model and not have to do this much tweaking to hit the 80s metal tones
